Person of Interest season 5

Indeed.

Like how Joey's appearances on the show are similarly placed in the run (probably coincidentally): His first appearance is the third episode of the first season and this appearance is the third to last episode.

5x12 .exe -- Alternate universe, sort of.

Geer is one crazy man. Totally loyal or just crazy obedient to Samaritan. All he had to do was walk out of the room, its not as if Harry could over power him.

And here we go....

I don't get why theSamaritan killed Geer? And also Samaritan needs to watch some James Bond' its always a mistake leaving your target in a room on their own to die slowly' you should always just blow their brains out.

To me it seemed like Samaritan was removing the final two human threats to it, and Greer being a true believer was more than happy to go along for the ride.

Thrilling episode if not without its flaws. I loved the alternate trajectories for all of the major characters, including Carter (although no Elias, sadly) and each one makes sense, at least on the surface level. I would have to review how the Machine affected each of their lives again because its been awhile since I've seen the show in its entirety. Christopher, you recently marathoned the whole show: Do the alternate trajectories work?

I honestly thought Fusco bought it there at the end. Good thing he had some foresight. Here's hoping he makes the right choice regarding the dirty FBI agent.

A couple things I didn't like: No way would the security guard not look at Finch's passport for a visual ID check even when a gun is discovered in someone's luggage. There were enough guards present to handle the situation, and if they needed the guard handling Finch, he would've told Finch to stand by. Period. Sloppy writing and a bad judgment call on Finch's part to trust something like that to work.

The other problem I had, and granted it could be swept under artistic licensing for the "dramatic moment," but Finch wouldn't be able to just wander slowly through the corridors during a bomb threat alert. Multiple would be yelling at him and physically assuring that he was exciting the building.

Actually, one more thing I didn't like but every show and film does this: Greer passes out (and according to Finch, dies) and yet Finch survives with no problem. Sure he's considerably younger and I could believe he would pass out first, but to die and not affect Finch? Come on!

But I'm willing to look pass those flaws because of the beautiful Kurt Vonnegut reference: Ice-9. Brilliant. :D

Looks like Harold is going to commit suicide to ensure his work doesn't get misused again.

Oh, OK.

Yeah, that was a bit of a James Bond moment; if Samaritan wanted to kill them both, it should've just had a guy come in and shoot them.

He was a Samaritan agent. Some of these storylines probably would've had more room to breathe if if hadn't been a shortened season.

I was thinking about this myself and while I agree with you, after some thinking and Greers comment about the room being completely sealed from the outside world -- I'm pretty sure Samaritan was being over protective or scared Harold was going to 'release' the virus. So if Greer left the room/or had an agent come in to kill them, it would have opened the door to the possibility of Harold shouting out the password. So rather then taking the risk, Samaritan would rather kill its own agent to save its own 'life'. Then again Greer could have just knocked or gagged Harold?

Samaritan wants to bone the Machine now.

Can't kill Finch too easily, without sacrifice, or the Machine will never drop her knickers for Samaritan.

I hope Finch has the thought to take care of the Smaratin remnant in the Subway that was running simulations with the Machine remnant. They should merge ther code and create Offspring, which Harold will have to raise right.

I think the finale promo hints at that.

It looks like Finch is going to commit suicide to ensure its destruction.
