P/C: our thread is eternal

Updated ...Is Not Gold.

I wanted to ask, before I moved on, if it would be in character for Picard to try and convince people, especially friends, to not go on missions and the like.

I had ended the latest installment of ...Is Not Gold with Picard requesting Jack to stay behind after an emergency Senior Staff meeting. I had originally planned to have Picard, because of Beverly and Wesley, convince Jack to stay behind and let someone else go in his place.

Hi! I haven't had a chance to catch up on much reading. (My son had a little league baseball tournament this weekend.)

I know how that goes. Both my sisters used to play softball, and my mom was on the Little League Board of Directors, and my dad was a manager...

Now, however, I'm just wondering if it should be a "Yes, Captain?" *Picard pauses* "Nothing, just good luck, and be safe" type of moment.

IMO, that would be the better way to do it.

Warmest Wishes,
Whoa Nellie

I think I'm going to do that, then.

Just because I want Picard to suffer

Jack Crusher: Suffer little man, suffer! You're doomed to an eternity of breakfasts and "almost" moments!

Oh yes, that works for me. A reader will fill in the sentimental angst to their own taste. Picard should suffer. He's good at it.

Re: First contact. I think Bev was still cheesed off with Picard after finding out he was married to Ensign Janet Brooks (The Loss) in the Nexus and not her.

I will work in a Bathsheba reference or two, however.

Re: First contact. I think Bev was still cheesed off with Picard after finding out he was married to Ensign Janet Brooks (The Loss) in the Nexus and not her.

And then immediately after, when she could have done something, Anij...never makes an appearance whatsoever. At all. *cough*

I was in the Fan Fiction forum, and I had spied the "Recommendations" thread. I remembered your fic, and then I realized that I didn't have the links to it anymore. Partially out of interest, and partially because I remember enjoying them.

I also, subconsciously and then consciously, wanted to see how my work matched up to yours.

EDIT: Which I have, by the way, been updating, although not as much as I have wanted to.

Ah, comparisons. That's one of the reasons that I love fanfic--you can study how other people deal with the same characters and situations that you're writing.

It's great!

I stole the Bathsheba reference from When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again and expanded upon it somewhat.

At least, I think it was WJCMHA...oh well.

I don't know if this has been asked before, but P/Cers: Say you were the producer/writer of TNG. How would you have dealt with Picard/Crusher, had you been allowed to let it progress as you wanted? What episodes would have had to have been changed in order for you to feel more comfortable?

And would She Who Will Not Be Named (no, not that one. The other one...no, the other other one) have ever existed?

:guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: That was funny!

Oooh...I just thought of a question.

Why did Bev get so bent out of shape when Picard started to pursue Nella after Bev had introduced the two? With Vash, it wasn't quite as bad, but with Nella...

^When she was encouraging them, it was partly from caring about him and wanting him to be happy and partly thinking it would never happen because Darrin was a member of the crew. When Darrin blew right past all of the boundries that Picard and Crusher had (besides Jack's memory, of course) as if it were nothing, that had to bother her.

I agree with Scatta.. Nella blew all the safe boundaries that epitomised the P/C relationship right out of the water and made Beverly very nervous indeed. I remember particularly the way that Nella made sure that Bev was aware that she was after Picard, it's a pity that Beverly didn't stake her claim, but then she might have known that Darrin would only be around for 44 minutes, before the curse of the guest star struck.

Oh and I can't believe it's been 7 pages since I last posted.. I'm getting very slack in my old age, did I miss any HOT GERIATRIC NECROPHILIAC SEX????

"Curse of the guest star"

But what if Nella showed up for a second episode, like Vash did?

And when you said "it's a put that Beverly didn't stake her claim" I had the odd mental image of Beverly and Nella circling around Picard, and then fighting like tigers over him...too early, and too little caffeine. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Nah, no HOT GERIATRIC NECROPHILIAC SEX, at least none that I know of or saw.

BTW *takes deep breath* IT'S SO GOOD TO SEE YOU ROSYROCK!!!!!!!! ZOMG!!!!!

How are you?!?!?!?!

I'm actually good. I've been getting single again, then attached again, visiting the USA, and nearly dying of shock when the perverted little MU story that I co-wrote with Mackillian actually won an award (or at least I think it did! I was linked to the site by my co-author and I am so inept with computers that I can't remember how to get back to check the accuracy of that rumour). I still think that Mackillian was pulling my proverbials..

Ooooh...sounds busy.

And that "perverted little MU story" was good! (And I don't care what mackillian says, it's smut, not e-r-o-t-i-c-a)

Actually I told mackillian that I write erotica after my precious little angel came home with a friend and promptly told him that I spend all my time writing porn!!! My flabber was so gasted that I said "it's not porn.. it's spelled e-r-o-t-i-c-a." and I stand by my words.
