Other people find it cringe, but you don’t

"Drugs make you feel good"- no lies detected

Some do, don't they?

At least that's what I've heard, being a teetotaller myself :-P A good friend of mine who's a former user did describe using heroin as feeling like "being wrapped in a warm blanket" to me.
In fact heroin might be a very good example of the kind of drug Tasha is talking about. People take it to feel good and then it can fuck up your body royally and you end up having to take it so you don't experience the horrible withdrawals.

I like my prescription drugs.

And my caffeine.

Same here. Caffeine is the one substance I do consume, I like black tea a little bit too much.

Though it will always be strange for me to think of the things I'm being prescribed as being called "drugs". In my native tongue there is a clear difference in everyday speech between "medication" and "durgs"(which is a word used solely for the recreational kind).

I was raised on Star Trek so I don't remember not knowing how TMP ends but I definitely would have rolled my eyes at that going in blind on a first viewing.
I don't remember people in 1979 having an issue with V'ger, most complaints from the general audience were regarding the slow pace (probably expecting a big budget shoot 'em up because of Star Wars), while Trekkies complained it was a little too much like "The Changeling". It's probably worth remembering that in 1979 the general public was still into actual space exploration and the Voyager probes and their discoveries were pretty big news, so the idea of one coming back was actually interesting.

You know how there's synthahol in the future so you don't really get drunk? I wonder if you can bang a line of synthacoke or shoot up on synthameth in the same way.
The more I think about it, the idea of synthehol is kind of dumb, most people can function after one or two drinks, so moderation seems a more "enlightened" choice - the only reason to have synthehol is so you can get blitzed with no repercussions.

Why would you expect to share the same opinions as others?

If you do, then you're basically in an echo chamber, and there is zero point to engage.

What I recommend is engaging is a large variety of activities and watch and read a large variety of stuff. This will help inform your opinions.

This will get you out of bubbles, where everyone reads and watches the same stuff and participates in same activities. If you've ever gone to a comic convention, you will see people talking about the same stuff, doing the same stuff, and reading and watching the same stuff. It's a safe place that tends to lead to the same opinions.
