Orphan Black Season 5 - The Final Trip

BBC America just posted the premiere date (June 10) for the final season so time to get this thread going for pre release and discussion.

I'm a little bummed it's a June and not April start. Still it's the final season so if they need more time to make it great more power to them.

With that late date, does that mean they are still filming in APril & May?

I REALLY think Tatiana Maslany should be a host for SNL.... and if she was free, that would be great promo for Orphan Black. If if she's busy...then maybe when it gets released where they can make money?

While I'm not a fan of SNL, she would be a good host and I would watch her. Some publicity is good publicity, especially for what she might do next.

It would be cool if they did a pre-recorded segment where she plays multiple characters at once. I wonder if SNL has the budget to handle something like that.

BBC America brought out like 30 second clips yesterday on their facebook page and Space put them all together for a trailer for Season 5. So happy to be getting a trailer now. I really hope that Kira thing is a misdirection like last year with the doll because if they kill off Kira this year, I won't be all that happy.

BBC America released a new promo for season 5 today. It didn't show anything new but it was still awesome and summed up the series pretty well. I still have a feeling one of the Sisters will die by seasons end and for some reason I'm thinking it will be Alison.

June is getting closer.

I would prefer a straight shot ending rather than more questions though. They only have 10 episodes to wrap this up.

That's really clever, that final shot of the four Tatiana Maslany characters all touching each other. That's a pretty fancy effect. My guess is that Helena's right arm forms a split screen between two separate iterations of Maslany and Kathryn Alexandre touching, with the hand and arm Helena's holding belonging to a third person and not actually attached to Sarah (with the jacket sleeve creating a visual throughline to sell the illusion), and with Maslany's head superimposed on Alexandre's body in both cases. That way, the Sarah-Helena physical contact is the only one that had to be faked. I'd guess that Alison's body is Alexandre, because her hair doesn't overlap her shoulders, making it easier to swap heads. Not sure which one is the other Alexandre, though, because the other three all have hair-shoulder interaction.

What kind of things would you like answered in the final season. We're three weeks away and the excitement is getting real.

I'm rewatching the series and I wonder if Shay is coming back. Last we saw her she had a military background was Delphine left her reappearance wide open.

I also want them to resolve Kira. They've left that thread open since the beginning and there has got to be a reason for who Kira is. Also if Tony comes back to prove his episode wasn't just a one off, that would make me happy.

I want Michelle Forbes to return, even if a computer screen said Marian Bowles is dead.

As for lingering questions, I don't have any on the top of my head. I need to watch the show again from the start. I've only seen it the one time.

I thought Marion Bowles would have been a lot more important than we got. Yeah I know Forbes might be a hard get but season 2 ended in such a way that because she was nowhere to be found in season 3, it might have impacted my enjoyament of that season.

I'm still a little confused as to who Topside are. Did Ferdinand just go rouge with the whole Helsinki thing or are Topside a lot worse than Marion led on.

Will Discovery's shooting schedule have allowed Frain to be Ferdinand here? I hope so, he's great as a bad guy.

I too wonder if they'll eve explain Kira and what the hell that thing was in her medical scan in Season 1.

There's a shit-ton going on in this show. I think it would be impossible to wrap it all up in 10 episodes. My hope is they don't and leave the potential for movies later on.
