Spoilers On Seven and sexuality

How come we didnt get 18 pages of "I dont have a problem with it BUT" when Jurati and Rios hooked up

Just as many complaints when Chakotay & Seven were suddenly an item. It would be an interesting case study to see how many are the same ones complaining about Raffi & Seven.

I really, honestly, couldn’t give a flying f*ck what Seven’s sexuality is or isn’t.

There are a lot of people willing to read what strikes me as waaaaay too much into both the Bjayzl scenes and the hand-hold with Raffi.

Until it (potentially) becomes an actual, relevant part of the plot, this is all pointless speculation / wild wish-fulfilment fantasy*

* delete as applicable

Stamets and Culber made sense and was, before the writers chose to make it all complex, beautiful for its simplicity and the fact that their relationship was also perfectly normal and accepted and, at times, wonderfully mundane.

Seven/Raffi kind of came out of nowhere, but I'm honestly intrigued by the idea and would like to see their relationship developed more. They've both got major walls around their hearts, but it does seem like coming into contact with Picard has motivated them both to start to open up more a bit. I could see this being a really lovely subplot about learning to love again.

I rewatched the scene. It's possible the context is that Seven and Raffi are playing kal-toh and doing shots of *insert space liquor here*, they inadvertently touch hands and then they lock them together then and there. No prior history. Just spur of the moment.

A very good point. The rather sudden arrival of that relationship didn't cause anyone to bat an eye.
For my part, I don't much care about Jurati or Rios (yet - that may change). I didn't find their hookup particularly believable or credible either but I'm not interested enough in either of them to comment about it, let alone start a thread. Seven, however, is a well-established and (reasonably) popular character. Stands to reason people would want to talk about her now she's reappeared (so to speak).

And yet, here you are, in a thread titled "On Seven and sexuality".
What of it? This is a discussion board, after all. People are allowed to discuss stuff. (And a local mod has spoken as I typed this, so enough said about that.)

As a gay man myself, I find it embarrassing, and condescending. The producers of both shows really, really can't help themselves shoehorning in gay characters. That's now 5 in the space of two crews.

Oh and it was so stupidly out of the blue that it only doubled how pathetic the reveal was.
