This isn't 1930. The average life-span is 80. Middle-age is 40.Retirement is at 60, or used to be at 60.
The middle between birth and retirement is 30.
I remember the the character Mary Tyler Moore throwing a tizzy, it might have been the pilot, becuase the demographics people thought that she wasn't a "young person" any more since turning 30.
I just left my 30s. I'm telling you that 30-something is not what it was when you were 30 back in 19__. Times have changed. Partially for better, partially for worse.
