Official NHL Thread

Go Panthers.

Still hate Vegas for what they did to Pavelski in 2017. Of course the Power Play that followed was the greatest Power Play I have ever seen in Hockey so it worked out, but I still hate Vegas.

Congrats to the Golden Knights. They were such a complete team and deserved it. I hate it as a Sharks fan, but credit where credit is due.

If the Sharks beat the Oilers tonight, they will no longer be the lone worst team in Hockey. Oilers were supposed to be a playoff team. Sharks are rebuilding. Weird times.

Edmonton fires their coach, Jay Woodcroft.

Edmonton does not fire their inept GM, Ken Holland, who built a team with no defence and horrible goaltending.

Edmonton hires Connor McDavid's junior coach in an attempt to placate their star.

Edmonton hires Paul Coffey as an assistant coach for defence (because that is what Paul Coffey was known for) because the owner wants to hang out with the glory day Oilers.

Edmonton has gone on a roll since that coach firing. Same with Minnesota.

John Hynes is a recycled coach and he isn't going to be the long term solution in Minnesota.

Minnesota has been struggling a lot lately so you were right on that.

It's 9:30 AM on the west coast and I'm watching a live Sharks game taking place in Buffalo. This is too early for a Hockey game (Even though I love watching Baseball at this time for some reason).

Joe Thornton is getting his number retired sometime next season. Probably the only game the Sharks will sell out.

Good for him. That was such a franchise altering trade and while it produced no Stanley Cups, it was a hell of a ride.

An Atlanta group is trying to get the NHL to expand and bring a team to Atlanta for the third time. There's a Utah group also trying to get them to expand.

The owners of the Capitals and Wizards want a new arena in Virginia. Attorney general says it would violate their lease which is through 2047.

It’s being reported that the NHL has a contingency plan to sell the Coyotes to the Jazz owners and move them to Salt Lake if their current incompetent and clueless owner can’t get an arena deal done. They’ve been playing in a college arena that seats 4600. No comment from the team or league.

I don't know if Utah is going to be the best market to go to, over Houston or hell, even a third try in Atlanta.
