Nyota or Christine?

He is possibly further drawn due to feeling more of a connection to Earth and humanity due to the loss of Vulcan.

Imagine Uhura trying to be more Vulcan for him, only to be reassured she doesn't have to. Maybe it is Sarek that regales her with the story of how Amanda once tried the same, only to realize he loved her for who she was, and that shouldn't change just because Vulcan is gone.

Nyota is the better choice.

I am assuming this question is been asked based on SNW revisiting Christine. That is fine but I will still pick Uhura. Uhura in any incarnation TOS, SNW, TAS, Kelvin, Novelverse has proven to be a character of consistent substance. Christine does not have that merit.

Kelvin Star Trek was in 2009, we only had TOS to base both Women. As someone said, Uhura was a bigger deal than Chapel and while Spock never showed any deep romantic feelings for either. Nichols Uhura would have been a better choice for a romantic lead than Majel’s Chapel.

Chapel was not a well loved character in TOS. People found her crush on Spock pathetic. if she has been in Star Trek 2009 , I don’t think that would have changed much because that was how the character was defined in TOS. Chapel would still have been portrayed as an awkward girl who had a pathetic huge crush on Spock that he could not return.

If we were to go by now in 2023 with some of the things we have seen in SNW. I would still say Uhura. I am not going to say much about SNW storylines here. what I will say is for men like Spock. Kelvin Uhura is the girl, you marry. Your adult love, the girl you grow old with. The modern Christine works more as a high school sweetheart kind of girl. How long have Spock and uhura been together by the end of Star Trek Beyond? 5-7 years.

Your question of people been angry. I do not think people were as I remember star trek 2009 very well along with Harry Potter 6 and Dargonball since I remember that movie summer getting dragged to see some of this film. Spock/Uhura became a huge topic in entertainment, almost a pop culture staple. I remember the Simpsons doing a parody of the romance because Star Trek 2009 was huge and everyone wanted a piece of it. What also helps Spock/Uhura is it was an alternate reality very different from TOS or SNW.

I am not sure Spock/Christine would have the same favour. They tend to have a lot of haters on social media and a lot of people are quite confused about the new Christine. SNW is a true prequel to TOS and it has deviated a lot from TOS Canon. Chapel in SNW is not the same girl we know from TOS, which has rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way. If they had to change Chapel this much and break a lot of canon just to pair her with Spock, It means the pairing is too deeply flawed and insecere unlike Kelvin Uhura who is not changed too much from the original take on the character. That makes the spock and uhura pairing a lot more authentic than Spock and Chapel will ever be.

The Spock/Uhura thing was a bit out of nowhere to me, but hey, new universe, new rules. They didn't seem to have any idea what to do with them as a couple after the first movie, though.

Spock relationship with Uhura in the kelviverse is actually a lot more traditional and Vulcanish. If you had to roll your eyes at it, I will not advise you watch any recent spock stuff that has romance as it is more soap opera.

Rewatching the movie there was build-up. It did not come out of nowhere, It was just a lot more subtle and less of a soap opera. It was perfect star trek.

I have not seen the first film in a while, but I remember the movie gave the idea that Kirk and Uhura would be a couple but Uhura kept on turning him down. She kicks him out of her room for sleeping with her roommate. She keeps a distance from him after the bar incident and the boob grab.

The first hour of the film gave the illusion of the trope of the guy chasing a girl, who will return the love in the end with Kirk/Uhura, only for them to give a twist that the girl was already committed to another guy (Spock) and Kirk stood no chance.

Additionally the movie established that Spock and Uhura has a lot in common in personality and goals. They took their role in star fleet seriously; they were both very private in their personal life (Spock only calls her Nyota) and both of them did not like Kirk’s reckless behaviour. Uhura had more in common with Spock than Kirk. It made perfect sense they were together along because they had the shared values. Sarek touches on this in the kelvin expanded universe.

I have seen all the incarnation of Christine and the truth is she and Spock have nothing in common.

In the Kelvinverse, Spock's relationship with Uhura mirrors Sarek and Amanda's relationship. His pursuit of a committed relationship is perhaps further encouraged by Amanda's death; this Spock knows what it is like to lose a close family member and doesn't want to squander the time he has with the one he loves.

This is true. Kelvin Nyota is the girl you marry like Amanda. What makes a good marriage (Sarek/Amamda) or long lasting relationship is that while you have obstacles, you try and make it work and stay committed. We see this at the end of Star Trek Beyond, Spock goes to Kirk's party not for Kirk but for Uhura because he still wants to be with her despite having thoughts about leaving to marry a Vulcan woman. Uhura is appreciative and thankful he made an effort to patch things up. There is a kind of honest maturity you see with Spock's romance with Uhura in the last film than I have never seen with any other Spock’s romance. Star Trek Beyond is the best Star Trek movie of the 3 Kelvin films.

I never thought Spock would pair with any Human. In one episode of TOS, Uhura flirted with him, but she was just having some fun. In one other episode Chapel severe crushed but soon crashed and burned. Spock was just on drugs when he spocked Leila Kalomi.

In ST III, Zombie Spock ponfarred Saavik but that was the Genesis Wave talking.

Finally, the Kelvin movies were all really too weird.

Then AI came and produced this image:

I consider it canon.

Getting a Carl Spock vibe from that one.
