It's easy to wear more clothing in modern day society. As are you, to other people's desires for more.
It gets harder & harder to wear less & less clothing in public society with how puritanical & judgemental so many members of society are becoming.

I'm indifferent to clothing. It means not having any hang ups on seeing the human body without clothes; no matter who it is, how fit they are, how "Ugly/Beautiful" they are to your perception, and not get offended that other people want to wear less & less clothing to the point of being naked. It shouldn't matter, bother, or perturb you that people want to be naked.
Basically, you're indifferent to other people's desires for less clothing.
Becoming? That's a load of crap. It's been that way now for a while and has become more relaxed than ever before. It gets harder & harder to wear less & less clothing in public society with how puritanical & judgemental so many members of society are becoming.
KIRK: Well. But they've rejected all that and all that this technology provides. And they seek the primitive. The use of clothing to provide protection from the elements is important, of course. But a late 1970s view of future Earth would have had a lot more automation, controlled environments, a global weather system, etc. Walking around in a futuristic city on a typical day, there simply wouldn't be any environmental hazards to the human body.

Maybe the media you're encountering is seeing a different view on the human body than the one's I'm seeing.Becoming? That's a load of crap. It's been that way now for a while and has become more relaxed than ever before.
That's Social Media's fault where everybody is showing off only the best sides, never the realistic sides. What has changed is an increase in anxiety and depression creating more negative perceptions of self.
There is very little media I am consuming. There is a lot of people's opinions that I am encountering through interaction.Maybe the media you're encountering is seeing a different view on the human body than the one's I'm seeing.
I don't care whose fault it is. That's not a solution to pass blame.hat's Social Media's fault where everybody is showing off only the best sides, never the realistic sides.
I mean, wearing clothing isn't just about being puritanical or judgmental. Clothing also serves a very practical purpose such as keeping as protected from weather and our surroundings. It doesn't matter how enlightened society becomes about one wearing their birthday suits regardless of body type or whatever, it's still going to be a terrible idea to walk around nude outside in the middle of the winter. It's easy to wear more clothing in modern day society.

I don't expect clothing to go away, but there should be far more times/places where people get naked, beyond just bathing at home, during sex, or changing clothes.I mean, wearing clothing isn't just about being puritanical or judgmental. And then there's health and safety considerations. Fun fact, even the most liberal nudists today require clothing to be worn in areas where food is prepared and eaten because to be nude around food is not healthy at all.
So like it or not, clothing is never going away.
Exactly so. This weird liberal ideal of "nudity is freedom" is just strange to me. It's like, clothing exists for a reason and isn't just those evil puritanical ideologues who ruined the human body forever! Hyperbole, but not by much.I mean, wearing clothing isn't just about being puritanical or judgmental. That’s kind of an over-generalization, at least where TMP was concerned. If he was so obsessed with boobies, then he wouldn’t have cared about men being nude as well. But his idea was that entire families would be comfortable in public, and the rest of the public would be comfortable with it as well.
Even beyond the health and safety concerns, or meeting society's expectations acts in public, there is also the fact that wearing clothing can be enjoyable for people as well as being an area of self-expression. I generally don't get to dress up much at my job, but I do enjoy it when I can wear a suit and tie or at least a sport jacket. I also get a lot of positive comments from the public in general, and from women in particular which is just icing on the cake for me.I mean, wearing clothing isn't just about being puritanical or judgmental. YES, yes, YES, yes!!! So was Ilia and guess what? There was even a sex scene and climax during the climax from TMP. Very Star Trek, and there's still many Trek fans who didn't know what Decker and Ilia was doing was just that. I'm sure there's a lot of guys out there who loves a woman and say to themselves, "I want this!" and wish they could perform their fantasy with the lady just like how Decker did. Being bold was Star Trek, nudity and taboos was part of the dossier. The TMP uniforms basically had all the men look almost nude XD

As someone who basically can't sleep unless I'm naked, it's surprising it took this thread for me to realize -- there are no such people in the Trekverse, are there? We have seen some WEIRD sleepwear over the years. People generally seem to sleep in heavier stuff than they wear during the day.
