This looks like a communicator in Spocks hand... if you can make it out.

Nah, that is Spock sportin' his pack of Newport cigs. With all the angst he has in this movie he took up smoking.

they could be klingons ,but we really cant tell from that shot. they do have ridges but they are on their helmets not their heads. They definitely could be Klingons, what with the big build and apparent ridge down the forehead.
Whoever they are, it looks like they just kicked Nero's ass!

Looks as if Nero is about to get whacked by the one on his left, too.Im betting at some point Nero is in a Klingon prison, it would explain his ear and possibly the tatoos.
As for the helmets, mayb they are the Klingon idea of riot gear, they have what look like trunchons too
You suppose that's a pain stick in his holster?
But this new Trek is supposed to be DIRTY!You suppose that's a pain stick in his holster?
Easy killer. Let's keep this clean.
Here you can see his rank more clearly. He's a Captain at some point.

Or ... he's wearing a captain's tunic. I have this terrible fear that in this movie, Kirk fakes his way onto the Enterprise.

This is a little unnerving.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this before, but have you guys noticed all the glare in this trailer? When I started going through it frame by frame enjoying all the eye candy, I noticed large portions of the frame is obscured by glare, throughout the entire trailer.
What's up with all the lens flare? I hope it's not like that throughout the whole movie.
Who's the tall alien? It would be cool if it were this guy. This is clearly ground based - those shuttle are immense, way bigger than DS9's runabouts. How are those going to fit into the Enterprise?

Kinda reminds me of Hangar One at NASA Ames/Moffett Field in Mountain View, CA.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to notice that.

That's funny![]()
In one of my other scifi-favourits, 'Raumpatrouille Orion', they used flat-irons for the FTL-drive controls![]()
