Now that it's legal...(pics)

$150 million, and they gotta go with a barcode scanner for vectoring nacelles? :vulcan:
You do realize that those Symbol barcode scanners cost $400 a piece.

Check out Symbol's trademark slogan. Maybe that's how the prop designers stumbled upon those barcode scanners.

Heh, that's one possibility, though there are others I could think of which are as likely. I'm thinking those folding-arm lamps on the helm and nav desks are another candidate for getting their manufacturer's name in the "Additional equipment/tech provided by:" credits at the end of the movie.

It also occurs to me that the roll of tape seen on the center of the desk in that shot might figure in-story as what's wrapped around Kirk's left hand in the other bridge shot with him seated in the Captain's chair.
I think I found the lamp! Hopefully, nobody else beat me to it. The lamp is $1,026, and the barcode scanner is $400--so I don't think Trekkies will be recreating this bridge.

Pissh. I don't need a scanner and that lamp, ugliest lamp I have ever seen! I have 10 year old lamps more futurist than those pieces of crap.

Yeah, they look like they're the same. Good catch. Were you actually searching for them?

Yes, and I was shocked that I found it in less than two minutes when searching through Google Images. We need more pictures of the gadgets in the movie so that we can dissect those too.

That's too funny about the lamps. They don't exactly fit in there all that well. Man, this bridge is looking more and more like an electronics/office furnishing store.

Oh, and I noticed that the duct tape is not there in the scene where they zoom out of warp in the trailer. So it is not a part of the consol, it really is duct tape.

People have been speculating as to what weapon kirk is carrying in the trailer. Well I just finished enhancing the screencap and it came out clear as day.

EVEN WORSE.--- IS THAT DUCT TAPE ON THE CONSOLE NEAR CHEKOV?!

DUCT

TAPE?!

I MEAN

DUCT

TAPE?!

Why not duct tape? Duct tape is quite possibly the pinnacle of humanity's inventiveness. Duct tape is awesome. It can fix anything. It sticks to anything. Water, dirt, antimatter, you name it. I would imagine that a guy like Scotty would have rolls of duct tape scattered all over the Enterprise to address virtually any kind of shipboard emergency. I'm sure it was there in TOS in that little cabinet in Engineering where he kept that three-pronged doo-hickey that he used to analyze the flow of the whatsis. He probably just left that roll on the bridge. There are probably huge cross-sections of the hull of the Big-E that were held together with duct tape after various space battles. So don't hate on the tape.

There's one thing Duct Tape doesn't stick to.....
Ducts, yes, it will to everything else, just not what it was designed for.
Due to the metal being galvenized and whatnot.

Someone should have told me that before I actually used it on my air ducts- 10 years ago... Time to replace it anyway.

That kid pronounces the name perfectly.
The kid who dubbed the actor for the German version though... he mispronounces 'Kirk'.

Super...you've found a bunch of other people who also didn't hear it correctly.

Audio, from the trailer:

The cursor is set at the beginning of "Tiberius". As you can plainly see it has a hard sudden beginning indicating a "T" sound and not a soft ramping "bulge" look of an "S". You're hearing the s from James slur with the beginning of of the Tiberius.

That would be me...getting all CSI on yo ass! ;)
