Now that it's legal...(pics)

Hey that guy in the back of the bridge to the left...looks like JJ decided to tackle the bathroom issue buy putting urinals right on the bridge.

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw: mygod it does!

Yep! That's definately Paul McGillon in the trailer. Nice catch. And one of those shuttles belongs to the Enterprise.

that wasn't an angle in the trailer. Is that a spy photo?

Nope I grabbed it out of the 1080i trailer going frame by frame. I WISH had had my legion of spies on the set. And that I had a legion of spies.

Time Code 1:11

I knew McGillion was in the trailer but now I see the angle of the screencap.

"WHAT?! I CAN'T HEAR YOU! THE LIGHTS ARE TOO LOUD! SPOCK...YOU WERE SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT SOME WOMEN?!?!?

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:
YOU WIN!!!

:lol:

No wonder in the future they were such slimming clothes. The heat off the lights must make the bridge like a sauna

This is clearly ground based - those shuttle are immense, way bigger than DS9's runabouts. How are those going to fit into the Enterprise?

Kinda reminds me of Hangar One at NASA Ames/Moffett Field in Mountain View, CA.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to notice that.

Or maybe, "If I'm not careful, I'll end up talking to myself."

I really hope so!

You know, I still think that was a great moment. :lol:

So whats up with the this mined area? Anyone know?

trektrailercapsex5.jpg

Well, any attempt to construct the arcologies in the back would require alot of raw materials, at least in the early years of construction before more advanced materials and tech was developed.

It's more than possible that Mines like that are a result of such massive construction projects.

However, I think that that wasn't a mine so much as it was the preliminary excavation before one is built. As an arcology requires a deep "basement" if you will, with the base built on bedrock and there being many levels of Industrial and Power generation plants under ground with the towers containing the comerical and residential areas, it is a logical standpoint.

Also, with the population, and comerical and industrial industries located in the arcologies, and with the possiability of mass transit being primarily located underground, it explains the "farm wasteland" of the areas inbetween, the lack of established (and nature unfriendly) paved roads.

At least, that's my theory. JJ and the crew behind it seem to be tapping into many fields of future design, science, and other concepts that GR liked and even included in his TMP novelization, but never touched on screen.

I'm sure TGT could go more into the details of the "future earth" as envisioned by GR and the production for phase II/TMP.

Could someone do a grab of the sign to the right side of the vette as kirk punches through the gates before he goes over. It looks to me like it says "Open Government XXXXXXX" or something similar...

These are the clearest it's got, from the 1080p trailer:

I live in Muscatine, Iowa. Coincidentally, about 30 miles from the town James T. Kirk will be born in. Riverside, Iowa. About 15 miles north of me is a quarry, very similar to the one in the trailer. It is about 5 miles north of a town called Buffalo. The quarry sits along side the Mississippi river. So..... even though this is set in the future, it's still a good representation of this part of Iowa. I will take pictures of this quarry to share. Iowa is not just corn and dirt like most people think. But, I don't blame people for thinking so. To bad they didn't film in Riverside, but I understand why. Not much there.
