No promo's/teasers yet?

Wasn't expecting to find a new trailer in the "No promos yet?" thread! lol They did a good job providing a taste but not giving too much away other than the date(!) which is rather amazing given how much we've had to wait for that in the past.

Oh god, two Clara's? That would be the most frightening thing Doctor Who has ever done. But, since every one of Clara's splinters that we're aware of (I think) look exactly like her, I don't see it being a Clara copy.

Massie may be a younger Clara.

I don't see the point in casting a different actress to play a teenage Clara, since The Rings of Akhaten already featured Jenna Coleman as teenage Clara. Surely if they wanted to bring in a teenage Clara splinter, it would still be played by Coleman.

Yeah, put Jenna in a wig with bangs and you've got a teenage Clara. It isn't a Clara splinter.

Would I like her to be a character connected to the larger mythology? Sure. But I don't see it. The more I see that scene, the more I think it's just trolling.

It is possible they have two Claras running around. One with the Doctor and one with Missy. Missy (or the Doctor) picking up a fragment of Clara somewhere. The fragment still fulfilling her purpose by saving the Doctor. It is implied now that it was Missy that directed Clara to the Doctor (the woman in the shop that gave her the TARDIS external phone number), perhaps to save Gallifrey (and this him/herself) or perhaps because of something else later one that has Missy thing she picked wisely.

She doesn't really look like Clara. I mean, maybe she's supposed to be young Clara. But, even forgetting that I don't want that to be the case, I don't think that's what they'll go with.

I agree that there's not much there, but the look of the footage at least suggests to me a further evolution of the look of the show under Moffat. If nothing else, he's certainly "grown it up" since the RTD-days. As someone else suggested, it looks "out there."
I don't think it's been "grown up". I think they've just abandoned having a consistent look and are letting the directors make it as dim and dark as they want (or don't want).

Fans invent convoluted fanwanky theories to work out his stories or tie upcoming characters to past characters, while Moffat may baffle us with bullshit and then pull out something very simple and very traditional that does nothing fanwanky whatsoever. :)
That describes the first few seasons by Moffat, but I think there's been a tendency towards the fanwank in the last couple of years (the War Doctor, the events of "Day of the Doctor", Missy).

They're pitching that part of the trailer directly at the geek audience, but that doesn't mean Williams' character is any more important than "guest star of the week." How many times were JNT's or RTD's celebrity guest stars important in the greater scheme of Doctor Who's mythology? Honestly, the only one that was important that way was Timothy Dalton as Rassilon.
John Simm? Alex Kingston?

Not to mention Derek Jacobi!

The Sarah Jane is Clara idea from the 50th trailer is nonsense, its just a transition, to be honest I'm not even sure Clara's supposed to be holding the globe.

There are, incidentally, two slightly different trailers- one with the "Born to save the universe" caption, and one without. They're otherwise identical now though. (But the one with the extra caption did have the Dalek clip removed for a couple of hours yesterday, and then restored)
