No promo's/teasers yet?

I've never understood fandom's obsession in recent years with bringing Susan back. She isn't really that interesting a character. Being the Doctor's granddaughter is the only thing really interesting about her, and that isn't really enough for me to want her back.

Personally, I think it would be more interesting if Romana came back.

The Massie Williams character "sounded" like Clara. Maybe one of her splinters that's aware of her being splintered.

Oh god, two Clara's? That would be the most frightening thing Doctor Who has ever done. But, since every one of Clara's splinters that we're aware of (I think) look exactly like her, I don't see it being a Clara copy.

Hm..... Part of me thinks people are right and the focus on Massie's character in the trailer is indeed simple marketing, because she is pretty well known right now.

On the other, I've got this nagging feeling she will be more. Or perhaps just wishfull thinking.

I've been wanting Romana to come back ever since the show returned but I still hope Maisie Williams isn't playing Romana.

Doctor Who Magazine's current comic strip involves the twelfth Doctor and Clara meeting a Clara splinter. Who is very freaked out by the whole thing.

I thought the epic "Day of the Doctor" trailer, the one with all the Doctors, suggested that some past companions were actually Clara splinters with the scene where Sarah Jane turns into/is revealed to be Clara.

SJS a Clara splinter? Well... lets just say, glad that didn't happen.

You reminded me one thing with the 50th anniversary trailer, though - what a complete and utter lie that was. Totally different a special it advertized.

Capaldi has mentioned that the Doctor would like to see Susan again before. During one of his Q&A with kids at the Doctor Who Experience. He says he (the Doctor) did promise to come back on day, but he hasn't. A promise he hasn't kept. He's been through an entire life cycle and is now on his second...and now...Gallifrey didn't burn. Maybe they aren't all dead, his family that is.

But I'd still like to get Romana back. Even if not as a companion. Just so we know she's there, for later.

I would love to see Romana again, wether as Lalla Ward or another actress playing a new regeneration of her.

If we do see her as a new incarnation, I'd like to see Juliet Landau (Romana III in Big Finish Audios) continue in the role

Be funny if the Doctor is trying to remember her name, and she tells him, "Romanadvoratrelundar".
Doctor: I'm sorry, who?
Romana: Fred
Doctor: Oh Romana. I remember now.

"Maisie, Maisie, give me your answer do,
fans will go crazy,
If you're a girl named Sue..."

Say wha'?:wtf:

I had to watch that trailer again after reading this, and that is a very...odd interpretation of the imagery. I think it's pretty clear that they feature Sarah Jane because (1) she's arguably the most popular or well known Classic companion and (2) as a tribute to Lis Sladen.

They feature Clara because she's the current companion and the 50th Anniversary companion.

There's nothing in that trailer to suggest splinters of anything, except Clara herself.

I think they mean the reflection of Sarah Jane in the crystal ball with Clara being the one looking at the ball where the reflection should be Clara's (in side is the Third Doctor and Master fencing),

Massie may be a younger Clara.

Yeah, but that's quite a logic leap to make based on a barely-visible reflection that you have to pause the video to see. So...obviously Sarah Jane is a Clara splinter. Right. Um....

I got nothin', then.
