Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

The opening is probably my favorite part of this DVD. Moving, and with fantastic VFX and music.

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

ok, so this Year countdown from 2285 to current, is not actually in synch with the station blown-up being reversed, right?

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

Have to agree, HA. Brilliant to have G'Kar do the narration.

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

amazing opening music. amazing

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

Agreed. Wasn't expecting the opening to be as moving as it turned out to be.

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

Why did JMS keep revising the jumpgate FX I wonder? B5, Call To Arms, Legend of the Rangers, and now this version.

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

Well, it synchs with the Station coming back together, Mal

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

I'm actually wondering the same thing. I was happy with the way it was. IMO it didn't need to be changed.

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

I think it's mainly improvements in tech. And lost effects files that caused the gate changes.

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

burning bush = Geometry of Shadows rip off!!!

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

Something about Lochley is off at the beginning here. Scoggins has gotten older, I guess.

I think that's really up to the visual effects house nd they've had four since the pilot B5.

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

The opeing with Simon clutching his head didn't make it clear that there was time between that and Fr. Cassidy arriving.

I can understand having to re-do them because of lost files, but the look has changed pretty dramatically from what it was back in The Gathering. I just wish there was more consistency, but more Lost Tales, THEN remastering down the road would be my choice.

Re: First time impressions from the Babylon 5 virgin

is that the same chapel that brother edwards barricaded himself in? or was it the one from The Rock Cried Out?
