NFL Football 2009

I heard Ron Turner was fired today. That's got to mean something, right?
That Lovie is happy to scapegoat to save himself?

I look forward to Packers/Bears in 2010, may it be as fruitful as 2009 :)

I agree...canning 'assistant' coaches never made since to me...Its like a star fleet captain getting another command due to his idiocy and blaming the first officer and all the others...

You'd be surprised how often this happens in the business world, and the NFL is definitely a business.

I liked how the chargers did it...I didn't like letting Shotenhimer go, but when he went, they all went....

I didn't like NORV TUNER that much as a head coach, but this year I really think he had turned the corner...

With a little luck maybe the Packers will beat down Arizona in their shiny stadium two weeks in a row.

[Yoda]"Dreamin' keep, Scooter."[/Yoda]
One down, one to go.

Thus far, they've beaten the Cards in two meaningless games.

If they do it again, when it matters, I'll be impressed.

The Packers have been consistently tough. This game depends entirely on which Cardinals team shows up to play. If both teams bring their "A" games, well ... it's Arizona by a touchdown. If not, well ... Green Bay could whup 'em a third time.

Should be an intriguing matchup.

But it's obvious here you only have a hard-on for Warner because he's on the Cardinals and wouldn't be singing his praises at all if he had just led the Dolphins to three straight Super Bowl titles. If Favre was in Arizona, you'd be wetting yourself all over him and not talking him down.

It's beyond ridiculous to tell someone what they'd do or think.

But, for the sake of discussion ...

... yes and no, Sherlock.

I wouldn't so vehemently defend Warner, as that would be a Dolphins fan's job. I do, however, think he's a better quarterback than Favre, and would no matter the circumstances of their travels.

But the only way I'd 'wet myself' in relation to Favre is if I accidentally hit myself while pissing on him. I've always thought he was wildly overrated, and over the last few years came to think he was a grade "A" jerkwad, too.

[My cousin, a devout Vikings fan for over three decades, has sworn off the team until Favre is gone, and has vowed that he'll not acknowledge a championship won with Satan at the helm, so it's not impossible to envision someone not being able to get past their dislike of him.]

Redskins fire Jim Zorn, bring in Mike Shanahan. Could be interesting. Shanahan did well with the Broncos...until Elway retired, anyway. :p

As a Charger fan? I'm glad Denver made the mistake of letting him go...sure, his team lost those last four last year, but gee, the team still had a great core....Shanahan gone was GOOD for the chargers..IMO..

I think he'll make Washington competitive again. I still believe that Denver releasing Shanahan was a knee-jerk overreaction. Denver certainly wasn't doing as well as it could, but firing a coach who was told that he could stay in Denver until he wanted to leave seems like a team that's panicing. I'm glad Shanny was able to get back into the market and hopefully he does great things with the 'skins.

Let's see how he handles Jason Campbell's "championship window", he probably has a couple of years before retirement :guffaw:

I like Campbell. To the guy's credit, he's gone through several scheme changes. They need to settledown, let Shanahan do what he will do for the three year, and give Campbell some stability...

Do you have an alcoholic 'Skins mascot doll too?

I'm still in my Wes Welker raise the flag to half mast state of mourning. Next comes the scotch and rationalization phase. OK...Sam Aiken really can carry them to the Superbowl...

Any bets on who Pollard's gonna get next year? Moss, Mayo, Faulk?

Dear Lovie Smith,

Go to hell, you asshole. Oh, and tell Turner to get fucked.

The Bears are holding off on an announcement until a 2 p.m. news conference Tuesday at Halas Hall, but Lovie Smith is expected to return in 2010 for his seventh season as head coach of the team.

Smith met with team president Ted Phillips and general manager Jerry Angelo on Monday, and the sweeping changes that many fans have been hoping to see are not expected to happen. There may be changes, and Smith noted in his postgame news conference Sunday at Detroit that change comes every year, but it will be far from a housecleaning.
Does this board have a :face_doh: emoticon?

FUCK YOU ALL, YOU GODDAMN GUTLESS FUCKING ASSHOLES.

Uh Timby, don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel.

Looks like Scott Pioli is trying transform KC into NE West. Reports are that Charlie Weis is going to be KC's new offensive coordinator, and there are a lot of unconfirmed reports that Romeo Crennell will be the new defensive coordinator.

Now if he could just bring Brady and Moss with them . . .

Well I admit to not being knowledgable about Maroney, but considering how bad the Chiefs are, can't imagine that he would hurt us.

I'm just happy not to be subjected to the Steelers for the next 8 months. I couldn't take one more game of the NFL shills who masquerade as impartial announcers gushing endlessly over the great "Big Ben". It seems like each announcing crew was jockeying for position during each telecast to see who be first in the "post game Big Ben dick sucking line".
