NFL Football 2009

Man, there are some great playoff match-ups coming up.

And I think there's at least 7 teams with a real chance to win the Super Bowl....

Colts
Saints
Patriots
Cardinals
Vikings
Chargers
Cowboys

And then you've got Philly and Baltimore....more dangerous than you might think...What's up with the Packers and the Bengals? Each capable of beating anyone on a given day....

I love Playoff Time!!

:techman:

Damn the Jets, Damn the Bangals, and Damn NBC. Damn the Jets because they won. Damn the Bangals because they laid an Egg and could have kicked a new york team out of the playoffs. And Damn NBC for making them the sunday night game, and only coming out west, what twice during the entire season.

I really don't know who I want in the playoffs. Probably the Bengals, but just as long as it's not Dallas or New York, I'll be happy.

I don't know how I missed this one last week...probably because it happened right around New Year's.

Linebacker LaMarr Woodley predicts the New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals will "lay down" for their virtually meaningless games Sunday because they don't want the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers to make the playoffs.

Let's recap: The Pats and the Bengals both laid down because they didn't want the Steelers to get into the playoffs. The Steelers' playoff hopes wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with them playing like crap for a good portion of the season, would they? :wtf: :guffaw:

At least he was right. I'm sure he'll enjoy watching the NFL playoffs from home.

I've watched every Pats game this year. I don't think they stand a chance. Especially after the Welker injury.

Now if the game only lasted 3 quarters, preventing a 4th quarter metldown, they'd be 5:3 favorites.

Agreed..as I stated above (I being a Charger fan) I didn't want any part of the Pats..but with Welker down? I think that just hurt the pats in the worst way. He is, I think, the most valuable part of that offense, in terms of recievers. Moss is the big target, obviously, but with Welker gone? The decoy is lost and Moss can be double covered and he's gone....

Chargers/Colts for the AFC crown..and I think the Chargers, believe it or not, have the edge there...will be a great game....

I think the Chargers are going to get blown out in the divisional round, they just don't seem like a playoff team to me... but what do I know.

Actually, they have done pretty good in recent years. They lost the AFC championship to Pats and the Colts in recent years...I think they are surging at the right time. But they have also taken down the colts in two other playoff games...

So...you never know..

I understand about the loss of Welker, but I'm still not ready to count the Patriots out.

Tom Brady..."he's a sorcerer, that one!"

He and Moss compliment each other so well on the field. Moss being the deep threat and Welker catching everything in the flat. Opposing teams can double or put their best corner on Moss and probably not have to worry about getting burned by the likes of Sam Aiken.

Somehow the Pats have to get Bernard 'crusher of knees and Superbowl dreams' Pollard in the offseason or send him to the moon. I know Welker was a non-contact thing, but Pollard was the guy who touched him down after the fact. It's a creepy bookending to a couple of seasons.

Sure hope the Packers do as well next week when they face the Cards again. Of course next week they'll have to play against Arizona's starters. It'll be interesting to see which team's approach in the last game worked better- Arizona's decision to rest their players or Green Bay's decision to go all out and try to keep the momentum going.
