Did you actually see the game?

Yes, I watched the whole thing.

They played with the biggest boy today, and held their own.

Are we counting moral victories in the standings now?

;)

23 yards rushing is not going to cut it against anybody. Warner put up some good numbers, but once again he turned the ball over giving points to NY.

They'll have to have an amazing year-end run that gets them a second seed (which is highly unlikely given that they lost a close one at Carolina), or content themselves with a wild card round win. That will more than make me happy: I don't think any other team is defeating the Cardinals in Glendale this year.

After all, it'll be only the second playoff win in a decade, and the first division title since 1975. I don't need any more than that for 2008.

Yeah, I think they'll host a wildcard team and beat them. After that, it'll be tough sledding.

Fortunately, we have time. Our division foes are crippled and pathetic, after all. :techman:

No argument there. Arizona could end up with more wins than the rest of the division combined!

sums up the season pretty well.
I'm pretty close to making that my background for the next five weeks or so. :(

What exactly does one do if he wins a Super Bowl and looks masterful doing it?

Means he's earned a supermodel girlfriend.

Rumor has it Philly might be a good fit for him as it looks like McNabb is on the outs.

Or how cool would it be for the rivalry if Favre retires and he moves onto the NYJ?

They'd gladly take Cassel, but I still think it's much more likely that Andy Reid is sacked in the offseason and McNabb stays.

Belichick will never trade him within the division.

McNabb is easily one of the most overrated quarterbacks in history.

As to his intellectual gifts ... didn't he also have an appallingly low score on the NFL's version of the Wonderlic test? You couple that with, "Could you imagine if this happened in a playoff game or the Super Bowl?" and it's obvious the guy's a nice enough fellow, but rather a dullard.

Vince Young is the one I remember most clearly as having such a low Wonderlic score. Was that test even being conducted when McNabb was being drafted?

Vince Young scored a 16; McNabb scored a 14.

Terry Bradshaw, Dan Marino, Steve McNair and Randall Cunningham all scored 15.

I've been curious about this Wonderlic test.
What is the highest possible score? Is it 100 or like the ACT and 36 is best?
Is it all about football or some type of general life test?
Has a copy or example questions ever been made available to the media?

Really? I stand corrected.

As always, you have to take Wiki information with a bit of salt, but there is some more information here. Apparently the average score for a QB is 24 ? A perfect score is evidently 50.

McNabb's concerns are usually injury related. It's only been the last couple of games where mental mistakes have been a concern (he has one of the best TD-INT ratios in the history of the NFL). Frankly, it's Andy Reid that's looked worse this season. Somebody needs to tie a cheeseburger to a stick and lure him out of town. It's not like Kolb's a replacement for McNabb and I really don't trust someone like Cassell either. It honestly feels like the whole team forgot they had a shot at making the playoffs are stopped caring.

Man, I would so love to have seen Falcons-Panthers. I haven't had the chance to watch Matt Ryan yet. It's utterly insane that a rookie quarterback should be playing this well. 60% completion rate, and only 6 INT's all season so far.

If you look at what McNabb did in 2004 when he actually had a great receiver to throw to, and then look at what he did when he didn't have great receivers (which was still solid but not spectacular) ... good QBs and good WRs, they make each other better: It's just a fact.

I actually think he has decent receivers this year, but he has encountered two personal issues and one coaching issue (which has already been brought up). The first personal issue is his mechanics are in need of a tune-up, with him wildly overthrowing receivers, which is something he NEVER did in the past, or underthrowing receivers, which used to only happen when they were 5 yards away from him. The second personal issue is that he always plays poorly in miserable weather conditions, which was the case against Cincinnati, and then he had to play one of the top defenses in the NFL in Baltimore.

I would just be stunned if McNabb didn't have a complete reversal of fortune Thursday night against Arizona. That is a team the Eagles should put up points against, even in a loss. And then they have New York, whom they scored 31 points against, Cleveland who is giving up an average of 26 points in its last 4 games, and Dallas.

I don't think McNabb will struggle like he has been from this point forward. I think the real problems for the Eagles come back to their coaching and their complete and utter inability to run the ball, which will probably hurt them significantly against New York in a rematch that will probably decide Reid's fate.

Andy Reid was one of those supposedly brilliant coaching minds not all that long ago, wasn't he? Regarded as an offensive guru of sorts?

That's all true. The thing is that McNabb, in the past, has managed to look great with mediocre receivers (and I don't think the people he has this year are all that bad anyway). It's the fact that his mechanics are off that bugs me. Certainly not something that can't be fixed, but it's definitely disturbing. The problem is the Eagles can put up lots of points against the Giants, but can't move the ball against the Bengals. It's that inconsistency that makes it impossible to have faith that they'll do anything.

Well, he was supposed to be great at the West Coast offense (with an offense so complicated that people had trouble understanding it). But, in reality, he was a guy with meticulous preparation, but was always way too pass happy and struggled with play calling (when he turned over play calling to someone else the Eagles offense improved a lot).

I actually look for the Eagles to upset the Cardinals Thanksgiving Night. Arizona's traveling east (which has been the bane of the NFC West this year) only three days after a disappointing loss to the Giants—a game they could easily have won had their special teams actually shown up to play.

In Arizona or on neutral ground, the Cards are now a far better team than the Eagles. That much is obvious. Under the circumstances, though, in the Philly cold night air, on three days' rest having traveled across country, I think McNabb and company shellack them.
