NFL Football - 2008-09 Season Discussion

Still the strangest score I've ever seen was a game I watched a few years ago involving Iowa and Penn State. The Hawkeyes won, 6-4. No, that's not a typo.

I completely agree it'd be a tall order, but the Colts do seem to be getting healthier on defense. The biggest impediment is probably Harrison being so inconsistent this season. But the prospect of Peyton winning a Super Bowl, then Eli winning the next one, then having them face off against each other in a third one... I think it'd be fun to watch.

What would be even more exciting, and even more unlikely, is seeing the injury-riddled Patriots in the superbowl facing the Giants.

Another exciting but highly unlikely scenario would be Brett Favre having to face off against his own former team (and the one in which he became famous) in a Jets Vs. Packers superbowl.

Though if that were to happen and if the Jets won, there's be no living with a certian Favre-obsessed friend of mine. :o

All year, I've rooted for the Ravens. That obviously ends tomorrow. I hope the Eagles crush them :D

Jesus, it's like being at my family's for thanksgiving. :klingon:

The defense is going to go out there and prove their manhood by stomping the shit out of Donovan McNabb. :bolian:

Nah, I'm thinking it'll be McNabb of old who will dodge the Ravens blitz and throw for a 35 yard pass for a Touchdown.

And Flacco would get sacked five times and throw two picks.

Actually, I think this will be a close game, but who knows what the result will be. I might as well flip a coin to decide which Eagles team will show up. I tried to get tickets to this game (I was thinking about wearing Eagles green, but a Blue Hens t-shirt to show my support for Flacco), but tickets were way too expensive.

Damn, I guess I deserved that. This game is sad for both teams right now, though.

EDIT: And McNabb has gotten thankfully benched.

The Titans lost to the Jets. I guess the 72 Dolphins get to pop the champagne earlier this year for a change.

The Lions jumped out to a 17-0 lead in their game today. They lost 38-20.

Thats the type of dedication to losing it is going to take to go 0-16 this year.

Indeed! I guess the only mystery left now is guessing which wide receiver the Lions will choose with their first pick this year. :D

They're going to draft at #1, pick Tim Tebow, and then trade him to the Eagles for Jason Avant.

Nahh... this time the Lions are taking a new approach. Draft Tebow and train him to become a wide receiver

Well the Lions do have two first round picks this year. They could take both Crabtree and Tebow if they play their cards right...

Lost deservingly so.
They didn't convert the 2 turnovers into any points. Those alone are factors. The Jets had our number on the run game. Our passing game didn't come alive until early in the 4th. What slim chance we had once quickly vanished when the Jets came back and exposed our very tired D and got a 62yd rushing TD.

We got schooled today and hopefully it comes at a good time. We have ample time to examine and correct what the Jets exploited.

You also get to play Detroit on Thursday. They have a way of curing their opponents ills...
