NFL 2021 season - Belichick Strikes Back

If the Bears are smart, no matter how good he looks in camp/preseason, they won't rush him into the lineup. Let Dalton take a few beatings while your future watches.

There's no way Nagy is going to throw his new, shiny toy to the wolves in Week 1. Three quarters of the offensive linemen on the roster are hurt, Teven Jenkins just went down for back surgery and Cole Kmet is a goddamn turnstile as a blocking tight end. They'll let Dalton get mauled for a month before letting Fields unleash the dragon in week 4 against the Lions.

I'm not sure what officiating crews are snorting before games, but it allows them to make utterly contradictory calls that are easily refutable by instant replay, yet stick to the wrong call because reasons. What complete horseshit.

1) It's been this way for decades.

2) It's preseason, man! Who gives a damn?

Fields could have a mediocre debut and still win that game.

For Fields to come in and beat The Rams in Los Angeles, in his NFL debut, would be quite a feat.

I feel like he'd have a better shot than Dalton, based on their outings so far. Either way we'd need an o-line that isn't riddled with injuries.

Possibly, but I wouldn’t put Fields out there before he is ready. The NFL road is littered with failed QB’s who looked good in the preseason.

Lawrence named the Jags starter. Bridgewater named the Broncos starter.

Rams trade a fifth and sixth to the Pats for Sony Michel.

Seriously. Everyone has seen the clip of Fields getting absolutely destroyed--to the point his helmet came off--by a fairly obvious blitz that was right in his face against Buffalo. What happens when there's a blindside blitz and the only thing to protect him is the corpse of Jason Peters (for the four weeks before Peters' legs fall off and he has to be replaced by a tackle dummy)?

I mean, he is not ready. He should have seen this coming a mile away, this is a basic blitz package you see in high school and basic strat is to make a hot read at the line and dump the ball to the flat:

Knocked his fucking headband off to boot. :guffaw:

Much like Tagovailoa last year with the “NFL isn’t that hard” comment, Fields “the NFL isn’t as fast as I thought it would be” is coming back to bite him.

Just learn the game, don’t disrespect the guys on that field. It will come back to haunt you.

Jameis Winston officially named Saints starting QB - makes sense since he's a real QB, unlike Taysom Hill.

I think Jameis can have a sneaky good season - I wouldn't be surprised to see the Saints firmly in the battle for the division.
