NFL 2021 season - Belichick Strikes Back

Certainly not. I simply don't believe that Deshaun Watson is getting traded this year.

I don’t either. At the same time, it doesn’t make reports that teams are talking wrong.

I have a tough time seeing Chris Grier and Brian Flores walking into Stephen Ross’ office and telling him that they want to blow it up again while giving away the draft picks needed to rebuild the offensive line and running game.

But teams make bad moves all the time.

I'm not saying the reports that teams are talking are wrong - I'm saying I don't think the trade is going to happen. For what the Texans are asking? With the risk involved? I just don't see it.

I mean, the Bears' front office was allowed to mortgage the future again after making one of the worst draft trades in history to get Trubisky.

Prior to the whole "there are enough credible accusers to field an 11-on-11 scrimmage" thing, Watson was easily a top-5 quarterback in the league. Three firsts and some change is a rounding error when one of those comes available.

And remember, this is the NFL, which doesn't exactly have a stellar track record when it comes to shaming sexual predators. (Or predators of any kind, really; remember "Janae Rice regrets her role in the incident" when Ray Rice decided to use her as a punching bag in an elevator?)

Barry Jackson, who has covered the Dolphins for the Miami Herald for as long as time can remember, says that Miami's push for Watson is real and it's from "someone extremely, extremely high in the organization," which pretty much reads as code for Stephen Ross.

Q: Did Tarik Cohen have a second surgery?
Matt Nagy: “Did he have a second surgery?”
Q: Yeah. Did they go back in? Did that change the timeline?
Nagy: “No, I don’t think it changes the timeline, I think for him — I gotta go back and find all the little scopes or surgeries that these guys have. But for him I think he just got to a point where there was a little bit of, like, the scar tissue and just the healing and all of that. It’s where he’s at right now. All I can appreciate from him is working, every single day he’s done that.”

These Bears.

Yahoo Dude insists his reports are real and has “challenged” the Dolphins to declare publicly that they haven’t spoken to Houston about a Watson deal.

That’s right, “challenged” them as if they give a shit who he is or what he says.

But I’m sure news of that “imminent” deal will be broken any moment now.

I suppose you're waiting for a report from ESPN, which is so professional that it aired a high school football game featuring a high school that literally doesn't exist.

Just to add a little context - my wife has been a licensed massage therapist for 20 years. What DeShaun did is disgusting beyond belief, and not only did he cause immense distress to his victims, he also attacked the integrity of an entire field of medical practice. It's hard enough for a legitimate massage therapist to deal with the perverts, his behavior (especially if he doesn't receive any discipline) will just embolden them.
If we consider that Bob Kraft also had a massage therapy adjacent scandal in which he received no discipline but the indentured servants who were forced to cater to his disgusting whims DID, the fact that a "higher up" is trying to maneuver things so that a disgusting pervert will now be the face of the Dolphins franchise is just insult added to injury.

Cam's time is fully past, despite his many false starts (did he ever have a "time", really?) Textbook overrating. Much like Tebow. Donovan McNab comes to mind too. It's best this way.

Newton was a great player who was used as a Fullback way too often in Carolina. You can clearly see his shoulder is still in bad shape as he can’t really push the ball downfield.

Surprised he wasn’t kept around to mentor Jones.

I doubt it. If he was Newton of 2014, his vaccination status wouldn’t have mattered.

Considering that the team was reportedly incredibly pissed that he had to spend a week away from the team because of a COVID incident (beyond getting COVID last year already), it couldn't have helped his case.
