NFL 2017 Season

It looks like the Vikings are going to get Cousins, with the signing coming on Thursday. Three years at around $82 million. I got to see a lot of this guy on TV living in the Washington area. Ok, he's not Brady or Rodgers, but who is? He's still the real deal. Three straight years of 4000+ yards passing with 81 TDs and 36 INTs. A lifetime QB rating of 93.7.

So, it seems like a good move. Once again, fandom will hold out hope and dare to show confidence as in the backs of their minds they wait once again for it all to be dashed against the rocks at the last minute in the most heart-breaking or choking way possible.

Every season with the Vikings is a trip down the primrose path.

Welcome, Mr. Cousins. No pressure.

What a lot of these teams don't realize is that it takes a lot more to build an offense than just a QB. Some of the local news people in Denver this morning were even asking if they should burn their first round draft pick on getting a second QB in addition to having just signed Keenum. WTF?!? Your O-line profile is akin to a whiffle ball and you're looking to get another QB?? Elway needs to just fucking go away.

My heart's breaking for Washington. Cousins was treated horribly there. I don't blame him one bit for leaving for Minnesota and I wish him well, but replacing him with Smith from KC, someone who is virtually comparable in statistics with Cousins - and several years OLDER - makes no sense. Fucking Snyder. Looks like another shit year all the way around. Not really looking forward to the upcoming season, sadly. Kind of felt this way last year and I'm REALLY feeling it now. :(

Minnesota better hope Cousins produces and stays healthy. All 3 of their QB's from last year have signed (or will) elsewhere.

Not sure what kind of backup they'll have. But I'm not sure who the Bears will have backing up Trubisky, though we're not likely to be a winning team either.

The Bears might be getting career clipboard holder Chase Daniel as their backup QB.

As long as he's cheaper than Glennon, he's gotta be better.

Wondering if this will be Adam Gase' final season in Miami after a promising start?

Hey @Timby do you think Suh or Mathieu would be worth the Bears' time and money?

Suh's lost a step and there are some severe personality issues; I don't think they need him on the line. The Bears' strongest need, defense-wise, is at linebacker, but Mathieu wouldn't be the worst addition in the world. I don't know that they need him, though, since they're still going to be in pretty much a transition year and hoping for 8 - 8 is probably a best-case scenario and it would probably be preferable to let Fangio work with the younger guys to develop them.

Edit: I forgot that Mathieu's ripped his knee to shreds twice. He's not an addition that would push the team over the top.

Suh needs to go someplace with a strong locker room that is ready to win.

Unfortunately, that is definitely not the Bears.

Yeah, kinda figured those would be the answers, but they're 2 pretty big names suddenly available. But probably good reasons they became available.

Looks like Trevor Simian has left Denver to be Cousins' backup at Minnesota. Interesting. Good riddance, anyway.

Sam Bradford once again gets big money without having really accomplished anything.

Except having his knee blown out. Twice.

Lots of weird movement this year.

I feel bad for Cousins. If the Skins can't commit do bringing in some quality people, I hope they do just let him walk. Heck, as fun as it has been watching Keenum this year, I'd take Cousins in a heartbeat.

I have no idea what the fuck the Dolphins are trying to accomplish this off-season? :scream:

^ Even if he doesn't play clean he is going to make the Rams' defensive front a much bigger problem than they were last season, assuming they re-sign Donald. Also, assuming no drop off in offensive production, the Rams will likely be able to afford a certain amount of Suh shenanigans as long as he doesn't get himself suspended.

Rams have had one helluva a off season.
