NFL 2014-2015 Season Discussion

I remember a similar weirdness on a kickoff some years back. The rule is that if a kickoff goes out of bounds, the ball is placed 30 yards (I think) from where the kick was made.

In the game I was watching my team kicked off and the returner caught the ball on the fly while standing still with one foot out of bounds. But my team was penalized for an out of bounds kick! I was pissed because the returner went out of bounds with the ball. I thought it should have been placed at that spot. But apparently, that's not how the rule reads. Maybe its all in the timing. I guess it depends on the officials determining if the catch was made before, during or after he stepped out?

Dang, the Patriots look good. Stomping teams with casual ease.

Broncs might just miss the playoffs after their thrashing at the hands of the Rams. Goes to show their finally tuned offense cannot handle a physical defense. Peyton might hang around another year to get all the records in his name, but for that team to win a Super Bowl they will need to redesign their offense.

The AFC is stacked, it might end up with three or four teams with 10 wins who don't make the playoffs.

Got love a division where the "leader" is 4-6... haha!

The Broncos won't miss the playoffs, and I think they'll still win their division. But these last couple of weeks have proven they're a soft team.

Their remaining games:

Home versus a pretty decent Miami team with a rock solid D.

At the Chiefs, who just won five in row including Seattle and St. Louis (both who beat the Broncos)

Home versus the Bills (cold weather game)

At the Chargers

At the Bengals (cold weather game)

Home versus the Raiders.

Looking at that game, only one is a gimme, maybe two are easily winnable (the Bills and Chargers) and three will be tough to pull off with a banged up team. I can easily see them lose the next two games, dropping them to 7-5 which would make Peyton have to win two cold weather games to make the playoffs. I see them finishing 10-6 and missing the playoffs.

Adrian Peterson suspended for (at least) the rest of the season.

Is this an over-reaction to make up for the under-reaction in the Ray Rice case (among others)?

I think it is a little overkill. (for both of them actually)

I thought his punishment should have been time served (off the field) and fine 6 games in pay. Then play next game for the Vikings.

^I don't think so. Violence against children is just as bad as violence against women, if not worse.

I agree. Helpless woman, helpless child... both are inexcusible.

Well, considering that it is basically just a six game suspension, no it is not an over - reaction.

Well, my Steelers decided to play football last night for about 1 1/2 quarters. Glad it was enough for the win, but they really need to address the "playing down to the competition" thing.

William Gay giveth... William Gay taketh away...

Great effort by the o-line and Bell.

Man we need this buy to get 5 starters on D back...

Whatever it is, it's bullshit. Roger Goodell doesn't get to break union agreements and force players into made-up new proceedings to do so. That dumbshit put himself in this position after years of ignoring the issues that were mounting; he can't just arbitrarily change the rules just so he looks better to the press. I hope the NFLPA has good attorneys because they are going to have a hell of a case.

Thanks, Raiders. Since the Chiefs owned any potential tiebreaker against the Patriots, this loss will make it a lot easier for New England to get the #1 seed in the AFC. :techman:

Another game winning drive for the choke artist Tony Romo. That's 27 for his career now. Keep choking Tony. I love it.
