NFL 2014-2015 Season Discussion

The Seahawks... that was amazing! I never relax until it's a mathematical improbability that the other team can come back. Too many seasons of that happening to let me relax.
With all the slipping and sliding on the field, I'm glad the Clink has the new faux turf rather than the old Astroturf...

I don't root for the Seahawks not because I don't like the players... Wilson is a hell of a talent and class act and "Beast Mode" is frellin amazing...

I can't stand the cheater Pete Carroll. .. well, I can't stand Sherman either

Timby, Don't know what to say about Da'Bears... man, how the mighty have fallen. I think the whole "problem" stems from Cutler. I really don't think he gives a shit. I think his teammates are just sick of it.

^I can respect that, Yanks. And Carroll has improved remarkably while being our coach. That, and he has some major talent with him now.
As for Sherman, I think he's a hoot! Erin Andrews probably got one of the funniest interviews ever thanks to him and the fact that San Francisco had been trash talking us and generally full of smug probably encouraged him. He had just made the play of his life and the adrenaline was pumping through him.
I still can't believe Percy Harvin, though... I guess he needed to be traded if he said what he said about Russell.

Percy hasn't changed since high school. We all knew of his "issues" that were pushed under the rug etc. My son played against him. He's the fastest thing I've seen on a football field. He used to toy with defenses in high school. Too bad he's as ass.

Trestman says Cutler must "play better".

Because, you know, it's all Cutlers fault, the 106 points given up in 2 games, etc.

Well, if he directed four 15 minute drives ending in at least one field goal, the other team would not get the ball. And the Bears would win.

Yesterday, the Eagles were so fast, the officials had to blow a play dead because they weren't ready yet: Link :D

The Bears waived Santonio Holmes.

Truly the missing piece that will bring the offense together.

I didn't even know Santonio Holmes was still playing football.

You can make an argument that just because he was occupying a Chicago roster spot and showed up on the field now and again doesn't mean he was actually playing football.

Then they made the right call, getting rid of him.

(Trestman still needs to be fired.)

I'm ready to hop on a plane, fly to New Orleans, and bang some Saints' heads together. Grr.

Rules experts, how the hell was that not a safety?

If somebody punts the ball, it lands on your 1, can you just bat it into the end zone and it's a touchback as long as you don't pick it up first? That's exactly what the Colts did and it was a touchback.

I didn't get that either. Pats were in the middle of stomping them, so it didn't matter, but seemed like a clear safety to me, or a terrible loophole.

ball was dead at the 1-yard line, and as they tried to pick it up, someone (not intentionally, I don't believe) kicked it into the end zone.

Why wouldn't you 'accidentally' do this on purpose if the rule is that shitty? why ever recover it at the 1 yard line? I don't get why, in this case, it wasn't just determined to be a dead ball at the 1. If they decided it was on purpose, sure it would have been, but kinda a giant reward for screwing up there, no? Ball moved backwards, should have either been a safety since they were tacked in the end zone, or at worst dead ball for kicking it and move back to the 1 and start there. I don't get the touchback ruling there.
