NFL 2014-2015 Season Discussion

Some of those defensive holding calls against Seattle were pretty cheap. If their D plays like the last couple weeks, though, they'll be in good shape. Sherman was great and those guys were all flying around last night. "If they don't score, they don't win."

New England vs. GB this Sunday I hope is half as good as it should be. New England vs. GB or Seattle in the SB would be epic.

Green Bay's defense is pretty bad, so after the way New England shredded Chicago, I wouldn't expect it to be a tight affair.

So what team is going to pick up Ray Rice now that he's won his appeal??

Raiders or Jets, it's not like either team's PR could get any worse right now.

Edit: Or the 49ers, they seem to have quite a collection of shitlords.

Edit 2: Jokes aside, I don't think he's getting signed, at least not during this season. He can still produce pretty well given that he's so young (and his rough numbers were due to an awful O-line in Baltimore), but the PR hit due to the fact that he's human garbage will be too much. I expect he'll land somewhere in the offseason, though -- Donte Stallworth literally killed a dude while driving drunk and he was back in the league after a year.

Yeah, I hate to talk up my team going into a big game because I'm afraid I'll jinx them, but Green Bay's defense isn't scary at all, and New England's defense is significantly better now than it has been in years.

So apparently, the GB-NE matchup on Sunday will be the very first game pitting Brady against Rodgers. That's because under the NFL's scheduling format, a given AFC team plays a given NFC team only once every four years in the regular season. Rodgers was injured during their 2010 matchup and didn't play, and Favre was still the GB quarterback in 2006.

There's a good chance this will also be their *last* regular season matchup, since it's far from certain that Brady will still be playing when he's 41. Though of course, they can still meet up in the Super Bowl.

Yeah, presumably neither player will change teams (which would also increase the odds of them playing against each other again).

Rodg-uhs! You can't discount Lambeau Field. Big win for them - that D can step up at home.

Neither the Steelers nor the Ravens deserve to win the AFC N.

^It does seem like a number of teams have already mailed it in for this season, which is surprising given how many have a legitimate shot at the playoffs. OTOH, it must be killing some of the NFC teams to know that a team like New Orleans (4-6) may end up in the postseason despite a losing record.

Revenge for the year AFC West did it? (checked, actually was 8-8, but whatever). Meanwhile, that was the year the Pats went 11-5 and didn't make the playoffs...

My fantasy team would like to thank the Oakland Raiders for being terrible at every aspect of the game of football.

I owe my playoff spot to your ineptitude!

Um, the Saints are 5-7 now. Granted, that's not much different....

And, yes, even as a loyal Saints fan, it's utterly killing me that they could make the playoffs with such a dismal record. But, if they do, I'll be right there cheering them on.

As a Ravens fan, I can say that at least the Steelers were trying to win at the end of their game. :scream:

Yeah, it looked like the Saints totally quit up 35-16 with like three minutes or so to go. I live in Steeler Country, but am not really a fan. I guess I'm kind of partial to GB.

But yeah, in the AFC N, you have four teams who are in all ugly games. At least the Bengals are winning theirs! ;) It's still up for grabs, though.

You guys have dominated some of your opponents and then been shredded by others. The Steelers have to win with their offense, and with Keisel sustaining an injury it won't be getting any better for them defensively. They have him, Harrison, etc. because there really isn't anybody else.
