Spoilers NEWS FROM NY COMIC CON 2019...

I gonna hold back judgement on Data's hair just in case They did it on purpose because IT IS a Dream Sequence.

It turns out it’s just something Picard imagined/programmed to remind himself of that time Data didn’t get Commander Riker’s hair quite right.

If I ever designed a Android, they would just have a Super Sentai / Power Rangers style Helmet and that would be the end of it.

You don't need fancy features like a human matching face, hair, eyes, or skin.

Simple is better IMO.

By definition an Android is a robot with human appearance. If you just have a robot with a robot appearance, we’ll then it’s just a robot, not an android.

How very "Human-Centric" of you in the 24th century in a UFP full of mostly (BiPedaloids / BiBrachialoids).

Wasn't Dr. Soong always trying to prove that he could create a more perfect human?

I seem to remember that Data had to be "adjusted" because he was "Too Perfectly Human" the first time he was activated and spent some time with that eventually destroyed colony.

I got the impression from the trailer that a lot of the CGI is still in need of cleaning up. The battle with the Romulan BOP looked pretty cheesy, as if it was done on 1990s era system. So, I wouldn't worry about Data's hair and such (especially considering the last trailer had OK hair for him).

I did notice that a number of scenes had the background effects filled in, like the rainy street scene with Picard on multiple TV/holographic displays in a storefront (starting at 1:16 in the trailer). There's a whole cityscape that wasn't there before. Can anyone make out the sign in the bottom left? There's a fist clutching a lightning bolt, and I'm guessing it says "VIEW NEXT YEAR'S HOLO TECH TODAY".

Let’s hope that’s the case. There will be a lot of people with pitchforks, me included, if this is final rendering.

While that may be true, there's no reason why these F8 androids need to have all the features similar to Data.

Forget about the finale of DISC S2, what everyone in the Federation REALLY needs to agree on is to never talk about the Remans ever again and pretend they never existed.
I'm down with that. To me, Remus is and always has been ch'Havran and Remans are just Romulans who settled there instead of ch'Rihan. #RihannsuRepresent

That was Lore's lie, which was denied by Soong. The colonists weren't envious of Lore as he claimed, they were afraid of him...so Soong created Data, who was not unstable like his brother.

Fair enough, but you shouldn't need to fix HAIR with CGI!!

Why is Riker in Kirk’s house? :)
I just hope the show is good. They are overwriting a lot of awesome novel canon for this. I just have a bad feeling it’s going to be rubbish.
