It's good I think, I'll see the movie anyway despite of how good the trailer is. It definitely looks like it's trying to appeal to a mass audience, which could be a good thing.

Besides some decor issues with the bridge and corridors (Mainly the use of flourescent-looking colors), this movie is going to look fine!

This movie is going to be fine!

There has never been a trailer that has gotten me more excited for a movie than this one. And this trailer is what pushed me from, "It looks decent enough... I guess there's hope for a young Kirk & Co movie" to "I will be there, and I will be there opening night, even if I have to fight a small child for the last ticket."

The trailer looks amazing, it's edited beautifully, and it really got me excited. I don't really like the "Galaxy quest" look of the bridge, but I can get used to it. What I'm really eager to see is Vulcan, because those few brief shots of it look AWESOME!

The simple truth is, if it was the last ticket, I'd kick that small child in the face kirk style. :techman: and then I'd fight his father who'd more than likely have boot polish on his face in an attempt to look like a TOS Klingon.

Yeah I thought it was a pretty awesome trailer, entertaining for sure. I watched it a few times and the more I saw it the more I liked it - I wasn't really expecting it to be all Star Trekky, filled with canon and loyal to TOS or anything though.

Disappointed to not see Tom Cruise in it though. :(

I have to say I am look forward to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince more that this one. I have not looked forward to a Star Trek Movie with great anticipation since FC.

Orgasmic... I just got home and watched the trailer... um.. approximately 10 times so far. I can't save it to computer since I don't have Apple's QuickTime 7 Pro... only the free one.

When Nero says, "The wait is over." I get goosebumps... every time! That bit was for the fans like me who have been hoping for years that we get a decent new Trek movie!

I'm not overly surprised that 89% of the view is positive (that third option isn't an really a negative answer), though I would have expected the votes a little more spread out over the positive options. as far as positive vs. negative goes, though, that is not surprising at all. The poll seem to match up pretty well with where everyone posts.

Well, it's interesting that after months of anxiety and negativity over 80% of the respondents to this poll view it positively - and the overwhelming majority of them are extremely positive about it.

(That third option - "not sold" - may not be negative exactly but it's cheating to count it as a vote of confidence of any kind.)

Those numbers look to represent a lot of people who are registered but don't post.

I'd say that if the trailer is winning over four out of five posters in this forum on one of the most obsessively trekkie boards on the Internet, Abrams is likely to succeed in delivering a movie that will be embraced by most of the hard-core fan base.

One thing that I noticed was that the Enterprise did not seem to be under construction anywhere in the vicinity of San Francisco... that is, unless desert wastelands have sprung up in the San Francisco area by the 23rd century...

I never heard of the enterprise being build in san fancisco. Orbit or refit on earth ok.

Besides it does good to spread the legend around so other cities can have some fun.

(ok where do the McCoy and Scotty statues go? :))

He's gained 200 lbs and grown a scruffy beard to portray the corvette-restoring Druncle.

Thought the trailer was great except for the spot where they flipped the video and you see the insignia on the left instead of the right on Spock's uniform.

Nice catch. I guess some editor screwed up and got the negative backwards, since the insignia is on the wrong side and backwards.
