I saw a video about what they'd do with Season 8. I was not impressed.
For me, the trajectory of the series had a grade of "not impressed" anyway there towards the end, so it wouldn't be surprising if season 8 was more of that. Even though I was intrigued by some of the ideas, they didn't really hook me in.
Sorry, I thought you meant the episode.

The DS9 relaunch books were quite good, imo. The series running from Avatar to Unity makes a great season 8, I think.

Alas, "Kurn" is no more.
Man, I hated that episode. Love DS9 but when they made a (rare) misstep it was usually a doozy.
Well, wiping Kurn's mind stopped him committing suicide; I call that making the best of a bad situation. Kurn's memories could resurface or Worf could get Bashir to reverse the procedure.

Bashir said it was irreversible.
While I'd like to see the old characters if they're really involved in the story, I'm generally against cameos. It just seems ridiculous: get them to move back to L.A., rent an apartment or a hotel, so they can get up before dawn, spend 4 hours in makeup, so they can get a couple of lines and 60 seconds on the screen. Doesn't make dramatic sense.
Bashir actually said "nearly impossible". That was the writers keeping the door open.
