I thought the "Blue Lighting" was evidence that Romulan or Federation technology was used on that captured Borg Cube.
Ergo the Lighting change.
Ergo the Lighting change.
Discovery and Picard (and Lower Decks) are all part of the prime universe. This isn’t a question.
To me, it looks like huge chunks of that cube are missing, with only some internal framework visible behind those blue-lit parts. I think they are probably force fields installed by the Romulan-Fed crew to keep a breathable atmosphere inside.I thought the "Blue Lighting" was evidence that Romulan or Federation technology was used on that captured Borg Cube.

They had no rights to the original continuity. It's a clever slight of hand.
DISCO & Picard take place in the same Prime Universe as the Spock Prime flashback scenes in ST: 2009
Both the Prime Universe and the Kelvin Timeline are features of the alternative licence. Prime is simply closer to the original continuity than the Kelvin timeline
Does it matter? That's up to you
Yeah, a huge chunk was missing, I think they were using the field for repairing the cube or transforming sections of the cube into a more Non-Borg / Normal BiPedaloid friendly environment. To me, it looks like huge chunks of that cube are missing, with only some internal framework visible behind those blue-lit parts. I see this bandied about this board all the time. Is there any kind of documentation for this? It seems like some posters have accepted this as conventional wisdom but I can’t find anything about it.
All signs point to the prime universe and original continuity being the same. A lot of what you’re saying here is a distinction without a difference.
Have to disagree. The stories are arguably enjoyable, but the style is nothing if not dated. It’s a choice, and there’s nothing inherently wrong with it, but it is certainly aping something decades past.
The Romulans are now part of the federation ??? if all the old space romulan and all the military forces romulan now belong to the federation that would make them the greatest power in the whole galaxy? Is this a prison on a Borg cube?

Those look like alcoves in the back there and I *think* that is Romulan text to the right of the English.
I will cry tears of joy if Quark shows up in the show too.
I actually don't think there will be any additional Nemesis ties...unless the assassination of the senate also plays some small role with the involvement of the Romulans.
I am wondering if living Data is actually only in a dream? Given the line "I dont want the game to end"?
Also interesting sign "…has gone 5843 days without an assimilation…"
None of what you said here is true, at all, in any possible way.DISCO & this Picard show are not in the Kelvin timeline, but they are made under the same alternative licence that the Kelvin series of movies were made under
The so called 'Prime Universe' is not the original Star Trek continuity - it's an universe where things mostly match the events of the original continuity
Whilst this timeline might have the same rough chain of events there have to be differences - a minimum 15% difference I believe - so Seven's implants being different - the Borg cube having blue rather than green light, the DISCO Enterprise being larger than TOS all these things are different for contractual reasons
Discovery & Picard are made for CBS, yes, but they are made by Secret Hideout under the same alternative licence as Bad Robot made the Kelvin movies
Nope, you're wrong.Yes they are in the Prime Universe, but the Prime Universe is not the original continuity
There's no evidence of this. The Romulans are now part of the federation ??? if all the old space romulan and all the military forces romulan now belong to the federation that would make them the greatest power in the whole galaxy?
And there was me thinking this new trailer would put to bed this stuff. The Borg cube having blue lighting, and Seven’s implant looking different proves some sort of “alternate licence”, really?
Does all this really just come from that comment that John Eaves made, and no other reliable source?
Think about it, ST: 2009 was made under the Alternative Licence, yes?
Nope, which renders the rest of the conclusions from this statement invalid.Think about it, ST: 2009 was made under the Alternative Licence, yes?
Exactly.No. There is no alternative license. It's the same "license" that it's always been.
The horror...And plus, this isn't The Orville -- which you'll now have to pay to watch, by the way.
vulcan? Was not he a Romulan? I thought that he had crestAnd there's also the woman telling him, "You have forgotten who you are. We have not," and then later the hippie Vulcan saying, "Be the captain they remember." Maybe it's not just one character, but an entire Enterprise Alumni Association that Picard recruits his crew from.
