I thought the "Blue Lighting" was evidence that Romulan or Federation technology was used on that captured Borg Cube. Ergo the Lighting change.
Yes they are in the Prime Universe, but the Prime Universe is not the original continuity Think about it, ST: 2009 was made under the Alternative Licence, yes? But we saw the flashback scenes of Spock Prime in that movie didn't we? So by definition the so called 'Prime Universe' is an aspect of the alternative licence or they wouldn't have been able to show those scenes They had no rights to the original continuity. It's a clever slight of hand. DISCO & Picard take place in the same Prime Universe as the Spock Prime flashback scenes in ST: 2009 Both the Prime Universe and the Kelvin Timeline are features of the alternative licence. Prime is simply closer to the original continuity than the Kelvin timeline Does it matter? That's up to you
To me, it looks like huge chunks of that cube are missing, with only some internal framework visible behind those blue-lit parts. I think they are probably force fields installed by the Romulan-Fed crew to keep a breathable atmosphere inside.
In the ST:TNG episode "Parallels", it proved that Parallel Universe of very subtle differences do exist. So what's to say that every spin-off, incarnation, extended universe content isn't "Canon" to some degree. Even fan stuff can be "Canon" because it's part of the greater "Star Trek" Multiverse where any and all things that could've happened in a specific circumstances due to possible choices, will have happened. Ergo everything co-exists.
Alison Pill can't help it being likable. She'll be a great science officer. They should avoid writing her too mopey. She easily cries anyway.
I see this bandied about this board all the time. Is there any kind of documentation for this? It seems like some posters have accepted this as conventional wisdom but I can’t find anything about it. All signs point to the prime universe and original continuity being the same. A lot of what you’re saying here is a distinction without a difference.
Yeah, a huge chunk was missing, I think they were using the field for repairing the cube or transforming sections of the cube into a more Non-Borg / Normal BiPedaloid friendly environment.
It comes from some conspiracy theorists on YouTube and is completely inaccurate. The look of something has nothing to do with what timeline it’s in. If it did, TOS and TAS would be in their own separate timeline
You know what else I'd love to see? Flashbacks showing Picard trying to help Nero convince the Romulan government that Romulus was in danger of being destroyed (as we saw in the Countdown comic book series that was a prequel to Star Trek 2009). Maybe they could even get Eric Bana to reprise his role as Nero for these flashbacks. The reason? I heard this show is going to deal with the fallout of Romulus being destroyed.
The Romulans are now part of the federation ??? if all the old space romulan and all the military forces romulan now belong to the federation that would make them the greatest power in the whole galaxy?
You'd assume if anyone survived Romulus, the Senate and other senior leaders may well have been on the first ship out (given Romulan deference to power). However having your planet blown up likely changed the geopolitical reality more than a few Reman rebels trying to seize power ever did. My guess is that we'll see Romulan survivors living on a bunch of Federation worlds in addition to their own surviving colonies. Perhaps there'll be tension between these two groups.
I wondered if it was a homage to the poker holodeck game with Hawking, Einstein etc so that scene with data was all from a holodeck
None of what you said here is true, at all, in any possible way. Also the Borg Cube does have green lights on the outside of it. The blue stuff s probably force-fields, installed by the Romulans. Nope, you're wrong. There's no evidence of this. Romulans scavenging Borg tech originated from the ST09 prequel Countdown comic which Kurtzman had a hand in.
Actually, if you look up the sides on the right, on the bottom, and lower left, there's plenty of green lighting on the cube.
