Ncuti Gatwa is the 15th Doctor

Since we already know that the 60th Special, which is also the start of Series 14 (even if the BBC/Bad Wolf Prod. separates it internally), is likely going to be Ncuti's official debut episode, it seems more likely for an appearance in said episode by Mandip to be as a 'carryover Companion' than a one-off extended cameo.

We'll see, though.

It would be amusing if she's in one Davies episode and he gives her more personality and development than Chibnall did in three seasons.

I wouldn't say "more likely." I'd say we just don't know. It could go either way or maybe she won't be there at all. As usual, you're reading way too much into extremely limited information.

I'm not reading anything into this situation. I merely said what I'd like to see happen and what I think the most likely scenario would be if what I want to see happen happens.

RTD is the guy who cast Billie Piper( The UK version of Britney Spears at the time) as the first new companion in a revival of Doctor Who

Nothing is off limits.
We are talking about someone with three Oscar nominations by the time she was 24. Yes, there’s not such a divide between tv and movies as there used to be but I just don’t think it’s realistic to suggest that she’s going to sign up for a weekly BBC series that will tie her to Cardiff for much of the year.

Billie Piper’s first album was very successful, but her second was less so (she called it a “commercial bomb” in her autobiography), and she didn’t release any further music in the next three years before announcing she’d quit to focus on acting. She was four full years from her last hit song when she was cast in Doctor Who.

Major actors occasionally do a prestige miniseries, or they turn to television as their film careers become unstable, but they don’t sign up for an ongoing role in a mainstream show.

When you say something is "more likely," you are by definition reading something into it. Otherwise, you have no basis for stating something like that.

I can certainly see the show getting some bigger name guest stars than it had before but as has been pointed out that's different from signing up for 10 months in Cardiff.

If they're looking for someone who is well used to Cardiff and is now free to take on new work, how about Dafne Keen?

She asked the Dr to take her back to the 1940s to give her pop career another try, but to no avail.

A week after the announcement I have to say I've been pleasantly surprised by the reaction. Out-and-out racists aside the reaction seems to have been mostly positive even from people (and I was one of them) who had no idea who he was and how popular he is.

Russell has said their hand was forced when it came to the timing of the announcement but it worked out very well for them as got a lot of free publicity on a quiet Sunday and with his red carpet interviews we got to see Ncuti's enthusiasm and charm. And his own posts this week have shown him to be all-round class act as well.

I know they've said they went to stay quiet until after October but if he's going to be shooting in public at the start of June, I'd expect to see them get some official photos out ahead of the unofficial ones. (And of course, if he's not involved in that shooting it'll be interesting to see who is...)

Another announcement incoming? Diamond is the 60th anniversary type.

Just saw this over on Facebook, too, and YouTube is also speculating on impending 60th anniversary news.

But Davies said they wanted to focus on Jodie's entry before releasing any news after the Centenary Special, so I'm skeptical we're actually going to get any news on that front.

Remember, that's the same set of emojis that Ncuti posted on Instagram except the square turned 90 degrees to a diamond. I suspect people are reading too much into this.

If they're shooting in public they've little choice but to get out in front of it.
