James. LL Cool J is short for Ladies Love Cool James.
Patrick Labyterou puts on stuff on social talking about his career (so lots on JAG) and one talked about Catherine Bell's hiring to play Sarah McKenzie.
The show moved networks after the first season cancellation, the higher ups wanted a different lead actress and had some ideas on what they wanted in appearance etc.
Catherine Bell had what suits wanted and the producers knew her from the series 1 final and things went from there.
I'm only 10 years behind on NCIS. Might be time to catch up.
I miss NCIS: Hawaii. So much potential & so much loose ends that will never be finished. Sad.

Looking at it in terms of episode count, Mark Harmon currently has 428. Though IMDB says he was in 435 episode of OG NCIS, they are including the entirety of his last season since he was listed in the credits for all episodes, despite only being in the first four. For this, I'm only counting those four, which gets 418, though when you add the two part backdoor pilot on JAG, his appearances on New Orleans and his two appearances on Origins, that get you the 428. For Origins, I'm only counting the two times he physically appeared on screen, though if you want to include every episode because of his narrations, that's 462.
LL Cool J, at the moment 341 episodes total across the franchise, which means he only needs 87 more to meet Harmon's uncontested count, leaving out his narration only contributions. Which does meet the four to five seasons you said. Four season if they did twenty-four episodes like they did on all the shows pre-pandemic, five seasons given these days the shows don't seem to go more than twenty episodes a season.

The record is currently held by Michael Weatherly who has been in five series (JAG, OG NCIS, LA, New Orleans and Tony & Ziva) then Wilmer Valderama who has been in four (OG, LA, New Orleans and Hawai'i). With the upcoming New York series, LL Cool J will be in four series (OG, LA, Hawai'i, NY). So even if he were to show up in Sydney, that would make his fifth series and would tie him with Weatherly.
A possible gray area in this I just realized while writing this, LL Cool J did play Sam Hanna in an episode of Hawaii Five-O, so you could say there's already five shows he's shown up in in the extended universe the shows are set in, so if he were to show up in Sydney, that would make six.
