Name That STAR TREK Episode...

Clue # 1
This episode makes use of a corridor/section of the Enterprise, that I don't *think* is used any other time in any part this season, compared to the other two.

Clue # 2
This episode has a scene that replicates something from another episode.. And I'm discounting the generic bridge recycled shots.

Clue # 3
One of the bridge scenes in this episode is shot from an angle that perhaps has only been done a handful of times throughout the series, certainly not any other time this season I believe. And I'm not including middle or closer shots, but one of the wider main establishing shots.

Clue # 4
A very odd directorial decision appears in this episode.

Clue #6
A certain place has a revised pronunciation in this episode.
The Naked Time?
1. Sulu climbing up the side-ladder off the corridor.
2. The surgical operation on Joe replicates the surgery on Sarek.
3. Several shots from above looking down into the bridge are used in this episode.
4. Having Sulu run shirtless around the Enterprise.
5. ?
6. Vulcanian becomes Vulcan.

I just discovered this thread and thought it would be easier to guess an episode instead of a character. Doesn't look that way! :)

The last clue reminds me that Shatner's mother/father just died during The Devil in the Dark, so, that's my guess. This also goes with the "turned off the lights" clue, i.e. the suggestion of dark.
(oops, getting my clues mixed up the Character game.)

Hopefully this will get the mystery unravelled...

Clue # 7
The one and only (brief) time a well-known season two piece is played. Specifically connecting to Clue # 1.

The Immunity Syndrome?
1. We see the McCoy and Spock stroll as they go from a turbolift, turn up the "Transporter" corridor, then go through the "A" frame directly to the Hanger entrance door.
2. The entrance to the Hangar Deck was recreated from Journey to Babel as McCoy escorts Spock into his death shuttle.
(I'm not good with direction, behind-the-scene and music clues. Sorry.)

Extra: Based on the stroll and Hangar entrance, plus add in the next shuttlecraft scene where the shuttle is rotated from a 90 degrees position into the launch position, the entrance must be centered in the back wall (never seen). Eureka, not a ship starboard side entrance!

Really really good responses, but not there yet...Hopefully this will break the ice...

Clue # 8
Is it wise to say this in a Captain’s Log?!

Clue # 6 Kudos to a certain actor, considering his then-current condition.

The Turnabout Intruder?
Doctor Janice Lester admits in a log that she has successfully replaced the Captain. :wtf:

Fantastic!! I thought that last clue would untie the knot!

Here are my explanations...

Clue # 1 This episode makes use of a corridor/section of the Enterprise, that I don't *think* is used any other time in any part this season, compared to the other two.

Lester-as-Kirk passes the Jeffrey's Tube during the opening of Act II. As far as I am aware, we don't see the Jeffrey's Tube elsewhere in Season Three. In the earlier two seasons, we see it several times, either the entrance or the shaft.

Clue # 2 This episode has a scene that replicates something from another episode.. And I'm discounting the generic bridge recycled shots.

Kirk’s physical, specifically the exercise of the legs and thigh muscles, directly replicates the scene from The Corbomite Manuever.

Clue # 3 One of the bridge scenes in this episode is shot from an angle that perhaps has only been done a handful of times throughout the series, certainly not any other time this season I believe. And I'm not including middle or closer shots, but one of the wider main establishing shots.

Because the focus is on Kirk and the crew, and not any exterior space stuff, apart from one recycled shot, we don't need to have the traditional angle from the left. Here, the director decides to shoot the main bridge scene wide shots from the right-hand side instead. To my knowledge, this subtly different angle has only been used a handful of times, namely The Man Trap's final scene, and I, Mudd's opening bridge scene.

Clue # 4 A very odd directorial decision appears in this episode.

I think Shatner cites this - Kirk storms out the briefing room for the vote, but walks in the direction of a wall!

Clue #5 A certain place has a revised pronunciation in this episode.

Ben-uh-seeya to Ben-ee-seeya

Clue # 6 Kudos to a certain actor, considering his then-current condition.

Shatner is suffering from the flu and high temperature, yet performs to his usual high standard. Particularly during the first scene of Act I.

Clue # 7 The one and only (brief) time a well-known season two piece is played. Specifically connecting to Clue # 1.

The Doomsday Machine music briefly plays when Lester loses Kirk’s body, the only time this season we hear it. Also, near the Jeffrey's Tube set, I think.

Clue # 8 Is it wise to say this in a Captain’s Log?!

Lester!!

You got it Wonder Star! ;)

Well done!!

The Conn is yours!

It was a tough game. :brickwall:

1st Clue: Odd that more advanced technology was not used, even though it is routinely used in most other episodes. :wtf:

Hmm I had two in my head... But I will go with Conscience of The King....specifically the paper showing the result of Koridian's voice test...

The test is virtually infallible, but your answer is not.

2nd Clue: In a rare occurrence, Kirk-Fu fails our hero. :ouch:

I'll try "All Our Yesterdays".

1. The phasers and technology do not work when the crew goes into the past. Other episodes with time travel to the past have technology working. Kirk ends up using a sword, rather than even trying his phaser, which is interesting. He returns without his phaser, but somehow still has his communicator.

2. Kirk does not use his Kirk Fu in the past. He decides to sword fight, but when they come to arrest him he does not use Kirk-Fu to keep from getting captured.
