Game Name That Star Trek CHARACTER

And noooooooow . . . ooooooooooooooone moooooooooooooooooooore cluuuuuuuuuuuuue!!

1. I have an odd sense of precision.
2. I sound (er, look?) a little like someone the leader's old friend spoke of . . . .
3. I make an important announcement while some intriguing camerawork is underway.
4. Although my presence seems to be fortuitous, it's not clear what I really accomplish.
5. I threaten one of our heroes with a jab.
6. I've seen better days - but then I see them again.
7. I clearly dig the fossils. Well, relatively anyway. Er - don't take me to extremes, please.

I am not for you, Methuselah Flint.

8. Apart from what point 4 says above, everyone's logs will probably show that I helped solve an age-old problem.

Apollo, twin brother of Artemis, son of the god Zeus and Leto, a mortal. He was the god of light and purity. He was skilled in the bow and lyre, etc.?

Dr. Janet Wallace?

1000

1)"Six years, 4 months and an odd number of days" since they saw each other (precision)
2) looks like "Ruth", hair style similar
7)likes the old fossil Kirk as she did the younger Kirk ("the heart is not a logical organ")
9)doesn't say anything at Kirk's competency hearing
3)The ageing process has stopped. His bodily functions are getting stronger. (Camera angle)

Great guess!

I might add, if I may:

4) Wallace's presence is fortuitous with the present dilemma, considering her scientific background. But really she does little to solve the problem. In the end, it is the Big Three, with McCoy getting to the final solution.

5) She threatens to jab Kirk if he does not calm down.

6) She has 'seen' better days, seen a younger Kirk from the past. Then at the end of the episode, she sees a younger Kirk again.

Correct! good job, ItsGreen!

1. I have an odd sense of precision.

"Six years, four months, and an odd number of days." But who's counting, right, Jan?

2. I sound (er, look?) a little like someone the leader's old friend spoke of . . . .

Since Carol Marcus didn't exist at this point, I've always assumed that Dr. Wallace might be the "little blonde lab technician" Gary Mitchell mentioned. In any case, Kirk certainly has a type, if non-exclusive. (See also Deela, Odona.)

3. I make an important announcement while some intriguing camerawork is underway.

Perfectly explained by ItsGreen. And to this day, absolutely hilarious to me.

4. Although my presence seems to be fortuitous, it's not clear what I really accomplish.

I mean, the script makes clear she's an endocrine specialist, and with McCoy mostly sidelined, she and Spock are apparently the ones who make the cure, but it's not really clear.

5. I threaten one of our heroes with a jab.

MethuselahFlint explained this perfectly.

6. I've seen better days - but then I see them again.

Methuselah Flint explained this one better than I could have.

7. I clearly dig the fossils. Well, relatively anyway. Er - don't take me to extremes, please.

Doesn't seem any less attracted to Kirk when he ages - - but then that may not be particularly surprising, given that her late hubby, the "man she admired," was twenty-six years older than her.

8. Apart from what point 4 says above, everyone's logs will probably show that I helped solve an age-old problem.

And she probably did. I just wish the script was clearer about it.

9. I attend - but say nothing - at an official proceeding.

Nailed. She's there at the competency hearing, probably only so she can later assure Kirk that "everyone understood" when he says he made a fool of himself. Maybe Spock was keeping her available as a rebuttal witness.

ItsGreen - you have the conn! :bolian:

I was a little late to this game but the "fossil" "age-old" and the "camera angle" gave it away for me!! Great clues!

NEW GAME

CLUE #1
I am given an honor on screen by someone I don't believe any one person has gotten from before?

Captain R. M. Merik?
1. He is given the titles/honors of First Citizen and Lord of the Games as Merikus.

<I find it odd that Kirk and Merik knew each other in the Academy, and Merik constantly called Kirk, "Jim", but Kirk never called him by his name, so, we never learn Merik's first name in dialog.>

Sarek?

Sarek receives a honor guard as he arrives on the Enterprise in the Shuttlebay.
CLUE #2
I feel fortunate for the position that I have been put in.

Sarek comes out of retirement to lead the Vulcan government team on the issue of admission of Cordon to the Federation.
CLUE #3
My experience landed me in this situation

Sarek is a skilled debater who previously won the debate in his last council session against Ambassador Gav.

Sarek was retired before JTB? I forgot that.
Yes, Sarek retired just before the conference was called due to "other" concerns. Odd that Sarek knew his heart condition was so bad that he could not continue his Ambassador duties so he retired, but he allowed his own hubris to take on one last mission. Not only was it a bad decision, it was not logical. :vulcan:
MCCOY: Mister Ambassador, I understand you had retired before this conference was called. Forgive my curiosity, but as a doctor, I'm interested in Vulcan physiology. Isn't it unusual for a Vulcan to retire at your age? After all, you're only a hundred and two.
SAREK: One hundred two point four three seven precisely, Doctor, measured in your years. I had other concerns.

Oh yes! Thanks. JTB is not one of the eps I have (mostly) committed to memory. I completely forgot the retirement comment!
