Game Name That Star Trek CHARACTER

Now learn what it means to be an incorrect guesser, before learning what it means to be our friend!!

Bailey. He sparks an argument between Kirk and McCoy about how to enter his outburst into the log. Also, Bailey says something like, "let's find out what they want" which is a way of saying "employ diplomacy", but he is being naive.

1. Sparks an argument between Kirk and a senior officer, but doesn't get involved in the result.
2.
Diplomacy school? Hey, intentions were good.
3.
Helps feed a trope, and how.

Got it! It’s that tumbleweed behind Chekov!

:nyah:

Ambassador Fox?
1. ?
2. Fox was sent to get a peace treaty, even if it means by force. :wtf:
3. Diplomats are often portrayed as idiots, and boy is Fox portrayed as an idiot.

I have some small experience telling you that's an incorrect guess. (But a very, very good one!)

2.

Helps feed a trope, and how.
4. Would probably object to the later Heh-Heh-ing.

5. Descendants (if any) were probably not frisbee fans.

6. Granted, who could blame this person for his/her reaction?

I'm thinking about it, I promise. Sometimes the clues have to sit in your brain and stew for a while. I'll come up with something soon, even if it's a bad guess.

I think I have it. It must be Grant in "Friday's Child".

1. Sparks an argument between Kirk and a senior officer, but doesn't get involved in the result.
Kirk and McCoy argue after Grant is killed.
2. Diplomacy school? Hey, intentions were good.
Not a very diplomatic response to pull a weapon during a meeting.
3. Helps feed a trope, and how.
Not sure, but maybe this relates to security guards or muscle men not being (by stereotype, not actual) the brightest bulbs? Or maybe Kirk's comment "young and inexperienced"?
4. Would probably object to the later Heh-Heh-ing.
The Klingon and the Capellans are very matter-of-fact about his death.
5. Descendants (if any) were probably not frisbee fans.
The Capellan throwing weapon is vaguely frisbee-like.
6. Granted, who could blame this person for his/her reaction?
He was doing his job to protect the landing party. He thought he perceived a threat, and acted on reflex. And, "Granted" makes sense now.

You got it! Good job, SPB. :techman: Exactly right on all the clues except I had a couple of different takes on 3 and 4. For 3, I wasn't impugning security guards, but just noting that this episode (which is one of my all-time favorites) feeds the trope of K/S/M beaming down with a security guard/redshirt who immediately dies to establish the danger of the planet and its inhabitants. In fact it may be the best example of the trope, certainly up there with The Apple and Obsession. Poor Grant. For 4, I meant that the Heh-Heh Ending with the oochie-woochie-koochie-koo was probably not appropriate in light of Grant's demise. However, I did appreciate the "I think you're both going to be insufferably pleased with yourselves for at least a month. SIR" bit on the bridge.

Nice job and you're up!
