Nice to see the M:I book quoted in that article.
Mine is getting a bit dog eared but I still pull it out when an M:I episode comes on MeTV+ that I haven't seen and I want to know the behind the scenes story.
I found that series a hard watch. Sometimes it was more like "Star Trek: The stories that get passed around online"Yeah, and we ripped to shreds the first episode of that mess. Not even oral history, FFS…
I have the Kirk and Spock from that final line they did. These are about twice the size of those. They remind me of the last PM figures of Kirk and Picard (who did hide the arm joints better, while these have better hips). The fish tank looks nice, but that fish should have much longer rays![]()
It was mainly to do with Filmation winding down in 1989, coinciding with the hiatus after TNG Season 1, and getting sold off in chunks. (Some of Filmation sold to Hallmark.) The legal problems had to do with ownership of Filmation's back catalogue. It wasn't contractually clear if TAS belonged to Paramount, NBC Children's TV, Roddenberry's Norway Corp., and in what percentages. Also, re TAS, Larry Niven was trying to sell "Ringworld" as a RPG. Because the kzinti had appeared in "The Slaver Weapon", and a version of them were in the semi-licensed "Star Fleet Battles" (out of Roddenberry's and Paramount's power to control), making TAS non canonical temporarily resolved these issues. Richard Arnold argued that DC Comics should stop using Arex and M'Ress in the post-ST V comics. The attitude around the Animated Series was very different in the '90s, though. Both Paramount and Roddenberry's office seemed determined to pretend it never happened, and there are notes indicating as much in every official reference book from the period (even if the writers on some of the shows slipped little references in here and there). Things only started to shift with the series' release on DVD in 2006, and even then, not entirely; the fourth edition of the Star Trek Encyclopedia, released for the 50th anniversary in 2016, still eschews nearly any reference to it.
Interestingly, I ordered the same three. Mine arrived yesterday. Based on the strength of these I have ordered Archer, Garrett and Valkris as well. I have most of wave 2 on pre-order from BBTS. I'm excited for waves 3 and 4!I got my Sulu, Jellico, and Weyoun in today! Never even got a shipping notice, so that was a pleasant surprise. The package for each figure was more stout and heavy than I was expecting. Hope to have a chance later to open them up and try them out.
Is it from Aeronet? I got an e-mail today that I need to agree to customs. I haven't ordered anything else at the moment.hmmmm I think my figures are on their way. I just got a FedEx shipping notice from a seller that I don’t recognize out in Cali and the only packages I’m expecting are from either Nacelle, Fanhome or Master Replicas.
Guess I’ll find out Sunday.
Thank you. Just wanted to make sure I am not paying to a spammer, since the "you got a parcel, confirm here" is also often fake.Yup, Aeronet shipping via FedEx.
If ya’ll are getting the same e-mail I guess that confirms it.
