My 8 figures arrived today, without an advance email. They’re quite nice!
I wonder if they have slightly better human proportions, with the exception of Spock, I always found the DST figures to be just a bit too lanky for the characters they were portraying.Speaking of the DST. The scale of these is right there with them. They are just a hair smaller but it’s hardly noticeable.

I think the Maroon uniforms look pretty bad without the shirt underneath, which doesn't help with the long neck look either. I guess they didn't have the right sizes to use on TNG and they were too expensive to make more of, or something.Garrett does have a bit of a giraffe neck though. No matter which head is on.
It could also be an attempt to create an intermediate look on a budget. They eschewed the belts as well, after all.I think the Maroon uniforms look pretty bad without the shirt underneath, which doesn't help with the long neck look either. Wasn't there a rescale between the Art Asylum figures and the DST ones? I seem to recall the Nemesis Picard and Data were a lot larger than the later TNG figures that DST released.I also dug out some of the AA/DST that I don’t have out on display and I am just gonna stop comparing to Nacelle. I’ve had them for years and didn’t realize they were out of scale with each other let alone out of scale with Nacelle. Archer and Picard (who were boxed up) tower over Kirk and Sisko (who I have on a shelf) and Picard makes the Nacelle Jellico look like a wee little guy.
I hated the half-ass TOS movie uniform look. I think they would have been better off using the TNG season 1 jumpsuits gently modified in some fashion, maybe even wearing the TOS movie pants over them to suggest an intermediate uniform of some kind..It could also be an attempt to create an intermediate look on a budget. That's probably it, although the whole idea that there would need to be an intermediate look is pretty silly. It seems like they tried to replicate the shift from season 1 to season 3 TNG uniforms, only in reverse, for the maroons, but it just looks half-assed (because it was).It could also be an attempt to create an intermediate look on a budget.
