I've mostly abandoned collecting action figures as a hobby, but I think I might have to dive back in for any Original Series figures they produce for this line (the Romulan Commander in Wave 2, the majority of Wave 3, might skip the two-pack, amusing as it is).

Though Bem from the Animated Series is also tempting...

very curious to see the likeness on TOS Kirk. They nailed Generations Kirk (at least on the prototype) but nobody has ever really done a “great” TOS Kirk. The better ones are usually just “less bad” than previous ones.

I saw the "Kirk as Romulan" figure in the package on a YouTube video, but sadly the convention hall reflections made it difficult to make out the likeness.

The attitude around the Animated Series was very different in the '90s, though. Both Paramount and Roddenberry's office seemed determined to pretend it never happened, and there are notes indicating as much in every official reference book from the period (even if the writers on some of the shows slipped little references in here and there). Things only started to shift with the series' release on DVD in 2006, and even then, not entirely; the fourth edition of the Star Trek Encyclopedia, released for the 50th anniversary in 2016, still eschews nearly any reference to it.

Starting to see the Cruise Exclusive Romulan Kirk popping up in-hand on eBay. 145-250 a pop so far. Good thing they are releasing to everyone else later.

Also, I think DST did a better face sculpt on their version based on the pictures.

I just got back from the Star Trek cruise. Since there were three of us, we got three Romulan Kirk figures (although one's box is badly damaged because the Royal Caribbean staff are idiots.) Are you sure they will be releasing this regularly later? Because I heard that they were only limited to the 3,000 people on the ship. If so I will be selling mine early then.

Yeah, the CEO said they would release the Romulan Kirk in different packaging later this year.

Even though this figure will debut on the Star Trek Cruise (and comes in cruise-exclusive packaging) in February, this action figure will be available to purchase directly from the Nacelle website later in 2026.

The figure in box will probably always be worth more than the retail version, that's the exclusive, but yeah, if your plan is to sell it, now would probably be the time while the cruise is the only way to get it.
