More Trek Series?

I think that if CBS were absolutely convinced that they key to continuing to grow (and maintain...which is more important now that DSC's 1st season is in the books) the All Access subscriber base was the Star Trek property...there actually IS a likelihood of another Trek-based series.

That said, I think it would be
1. VERY different from DSC and/or anything else that has come before in the franchise.
2. a much lower budget, smaller-scale show (the Academy and Khan ideas actually meet this criteria, for better or worse).

Either way, it's a very fascinating possibility.

I just hope each show has a unique identity and feel, and it doesn't end up Marvel-style series spam, where only a couple among dozens are worth watching.

I could not agree more with what you are saying here. I think not only would a new series need to feel different than DSC, but it would have to be a complete departure from anything that has come before.

I'd like to see a Star Trek show about exploration myself. We've had 35 years of 'pew pew' Trek.

As opposed to the shirt-ripping fistfights and mining rights negotiations of TOS?

"35 years of pew pew" is one hell of a simplified generalisation.

The mining rights negotiations were what gave TOS its charm.

Each new series of Trek portrayed the galaxy as an increasingly small and busy place. I can see the appeal of a future where crossing the void between stars is as easy as crossing the Atlantic, but what happened to the ‘Where no one has gone before’ bit.

I've been saying this for years. Actually, the only thing I would keep is the Ralph McQuarrie design used by Disco, done badly. Does anyone remember in the art forum where an artist did a mock up and his own rendering of that design that frankly no one disapproved of? It was beautiful.

More Star Trek is not a problem, the quality is probably study possible and thus allowing creation to still exist for the saga. If true would not mind anyhow good there is more than 10 at the moment anyways.
