Spoilers Moon Knight discussion

Who says it didn't happen?

Go back to that first 'Doctor' Harrow scene. Somebody's sitting there, with a bandaged nose and a bloody, bruised face. Somebody who clearly doesn't have a clue what Harrow is talking about. Somebody who talks in a low raspy whisper, with an accent neither Marc's or Steven's. Somebody who was half a second away from burying that glass pyramid in Harrow's skull before he got sedated.
I thought that too. I'm curious to see if we're right! Marc said "Bushman" killed Layla's father - is that a Marvel villain? Or another person in Marc's head?

OTOH, with only 1 more episode, there's probably no time for a 3rd personality right now.

I found that refreshing in an otherwise very somber and sad episode. Who says that all gods have to talk in somber voices and have to be all brooding and serious?

I like her very much and had a big smile or laugh everytime her little ears wiggled
I *love* her and want the plush from the early episode! She *is* a Goddess of happy things. :)

Yeah, I've gotta agree that one 45 minute episode doesn't really seem like enough to tie up all of the lose ends from this episode. Usually the second to last episode of a season will start to tie things up, but this one just set up even more stuff.

It’s funny how, at least in my view, we seem to have gone from the first three or four episodes seeming to show this could’ve been one movie and not a miniseries, to the last episode having a ton of stuff to resolve. Seems like there might’ve been a touch of an issue with the pacing, and they should’ve gotten to the Fireworks Factory a little earlier to actually have time to play out everything they were so painstakingly setting up.

Only a couple more days until we find out!

There's another QR code at 12 minutes in episode 5. This one links to a copy of Moon Knight number 1 by Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz from 1980.

Last episode was alright. Weird to skip the final climax of the boss fight but it worked in context. Lilliah reminded me of Isis in that getup.
The post credit scene was fine but I was expecting something that connected the show to the larger MCU. No season 2 reveal either so I don’t know where he will pop up again next. He’s back in London so he’ll probably pop up in Blade or the Eternals sequel

Good ending. I like that we aren't left on steady ground as to what's really going on.
The wrap up of the main plot was a bit generic. Fight the bad guy and stop them. The series is pretty clever at doing many things differently but they fell back on the idea that the ending needs to have action.

I honestly don't know why they did what they did if there's not going to be a second season, maybe they will continue his story in solo movies or as part of a wider team but that episode ended as sudden as it did.

After the amazing Asylum episode this one is kinda generic MCU, which is not saying it's bad but it can't compare to the penultimate episode which may be the finest show hour Marvel has put out so far.

Saul is right - it's basically hero returns, kicks ass, main villains get defeated - cue credits ( literally).

However there were some really good bits in there:

- Taweret saving Marcs' and Stevens' "life" in the underworld - man, i could watch a show just with her and her Avatar

- that said - Layla as Taweret's Avatar is just so awesome ( and i loved that scene with the girl she saved "Are you an egyptian superhero? - Yes")

- being an Avatar apparently gives you extraordinary fighting abilties as evidenced when Steven pulled out some amazing moves while in Moon Knight form

- also i loved that they found a balance between Marc and Steven and they can now effortlessly switch between characters ( apparently Steven is the more "social" of the Moon Knights when we see him bargaining with Khonshu)

- End Credits - due to how abruptly the show ends i was very confused why Harrow was in a mental institution ( a real one) and how he got there ( seemed to be in the US). But Khonshu finally revealing Jake Lockley, they third personality, was a treat and just for the few seconds he was onscreen Isaac scared me with his facial expression. Lockley must be a true psychopath.

Even if the final episode can't hold the emotional level it was a satisfying end to a degree with the caveat that they continue somehow, if not i'll be really pissed.

My interpretation is that Konshu does not kill Harold in Egypt. But Harold would be a psychological mess after what happened, probably babbling on about being the avatar of an Egyptian god and final judgment is coming. People would assume he is completely mad so he gets put in a mental institution.

Overall, a fun but rushed finale.

I agree that it kind of devolved into a typical MCU affair with a big superhero action set piece. Although the action was fantastic. Seeing the two Egyptian gods battle it out while the avatar's also battle it out was very cool and the cinematography was gorgeous. Having Leyla become an Egyptian superhero was also cool.

It did feel kinda rushed IMO as the episode quickly brings back Marc, Steven and Konshu so we can have our big action finale.

The ending did leave a lot of questions. The psych ward with Harold talking about imagination and Marc waking up in his bed kind of makes you wonder if it was all a deam in Marc's head. Did he dream the whole adventure of Moon knight and Egyptian gods? Or was it real and we simply jumped forward to the next day, back in London, when Marc wakes up?

I did really like the character development of March and Stephen. We started with Stephen very scared and confused and we ended with him coming to terms with his past trauma and accepting his multiple personality.

I think the post credit scene probably could have been in the episode itself at the end. It would have made a nice end to the episode. But still a cool credit sceene that reveals Marc's 3rd personality.

I give the series as a whole a A+. It had great episodes that were compelling and exciting. The acting was top notch and the music and cinematography were excellent. There were no filler episodes. It told a tight story from beginning to end.

Layla/Tawaret's Avatar get up and especially that scene :adore:.
Hopefully we'll see her/them again in the future!

Marc/Steven coming to terms with each other was a nice character(s) journey.

Sneaky cheating bird Khonshu, didn't reveal cab driver aka 3rd personality and only "released" the other two...

Where were or what are the MARVEL connections other than it being characters from their IP library?

I think the break and putting the scene in the credits worked especially well here. Things seemed resolved (albeit with a comical unexplained leg bondage incident) and then separately, unexpectedly (although by now we expect an unexpected mid-credits scene) we get thrown back into an asylum with a pretty scary but apt demise, opening the door for a completely different story going forward.
Other than that I heartily agree with you.:)

They mentioned Madripoor in The Friendly Type, which indirectly links it to the events in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I believe we were meant to infer that Anton and Layla know Sharon Carter/the Powerbroker.

But on the whole I'm happy they told a 99% self-contained story which didn't require memberberries from other MCU properties. The series was exactly what I hoped it would be, and then some - something that stands on its own, not a brick in the wall of MCU worldbuilding.

Of course, They're probably going to use Mark and/or Layla in a future project (whether another season or as secondary characters in a movie) which would make this effectively an origin story, but at least they let it stand on its own, unlike the other recent origin stories.
