Sran are you talking about the Phillies/Braves game where Laird and Gonzalez got tossed? Even the Phillies broadcasters were getting mad at the zone they were giving Lee.

I am. Hernandez was an absolute joke behind the plate. Chipper Jones spent most of the evening posting on his Twitter account because he was so put off by it.

I watched the game and was a little irritated as well. Granted I felt he was calling the game equally. That doesn't excuse that joke of a strike zone though. In fact I thought Maholm would be the type of guy that could really use it to his advantage. Instead he got jacked.

Can we quarter and behead Angel Hernandez? He's obviously the worst umpire to ever walk the face of the Earth.

Speaking of worthless human beings, John Rocker thinks PEDs will make baseball "a better game." When will people stop putting a microphone in this guy's face?

Least the guy's honest, whatever else you want to say about him and his view of the world.

It's a pity Rocker was only a reliever and thus did not usually come to bat. Would have been nice to see a ball thrown in that guy's face a few times. I'm sure there were dozens of pitchers just waiting to plunk the bastard.

That's giving him too much credit. It's been my experience that bigots treat others the way they do as a way to hide the fact that they're lying to themselves about their own inadequacies. It's easy to ignore the fact that you have a problem if you can take shots at a group of people you don't understand or relate to.

Could be. I never thought about it too much. Just my way of saying I care even less for the people who are tolerant towards everyone when the spotlight is on them only to be bottling in the most hateful things and thoughts when no one's looking.

Freddie Freeman and Steve Delabar win the fan vote to join the all-star team.

:techman: YES! I could not be any happier that Freddie Freeman has won the final vote for the 2013 All-Star Game at Citifield. He deserved far more than that arrogant upstart Puig. Anyway, looks like Freddie has got some hugging to do.

As for the AL vote...I'm a little disappointed Robertson came in second. Oh, well... at least Freeman is going.

Delabar's story of having a massive injury and coming all the way back to an All-Star game in inspiring.

The Braves lost their entire starting outfield within a 24 hour period to injury. Ready for the all-star break.

Tim Lincecum pitched a no-hitter tonight against the Padres. If this were 2009, I would have said it was a matter of time before he would get one. Because this is 2013 and it seemed like the Lincecum of old would not come back, this no hitter means a whole lot more than that.

Don't give up on the "Freaky Franchise." He is reinventing himself and learning how to live with an average fastball. His other stuff has gotten better and he is becoming more of a nibbler while pitching to contact. It will take some time but he is still an effective pitcher who can get outs while pitching to contact.
