I'm highly doubtful Thor 5 happens at this point.

Hemsworth has expressed doubts about both his acting career in general (wanting to spend more time with his family) and the direction of Thor's character specifically. I don't think he's necessarily a hard out, but it's by no means guaranteed he'll be willing to do another one.

And even if he is, is Marvel actually still willing? They struggled to make audiences care much about Thor until Waititi came along and then even he was already losing people on only his second outing. And they have a pipeline problem with too many movies and not enough release dates thanks to the slowdown.

I think it's way more likely they try to send Hemsworth out on a high note in Doomsday/Secret Wars and just retire the character from there.

Well, to answer both the willingness of Hemsworth and the desire for more Thor by the MCU is..... the end of Love And Thunder did had the line 'Thor will return'. Which had both Hemsworth and Waititi say: He is?? They were not aware of that.

Ofcourse, we have no clue as to which Thor might return. ;)

DISCLAIMER: Yes, even though I am quite aware that the majority of those around me think I'm quite stupid, I am aware that putting a line like that at the end of the movie is a great way to keep people invested in the titular character.

I know I'm in the minority, but I would love to see another Thor film focused on his relationship with Love.

To quote Juan Sánchez-Villalobos Ramírez: We are the same! We are brothers!!

The humor in Love And Thunder was a bit OTT, for sure. But I loved that movie. Bring it back down to Ragnarok levels, and Waititi. Don't care what humorless people say. And I'm in.

I agree completely. Yes, I would've loved to see more of the darkness of Gorr and the aesthetics around him that came from the Shadow Realm (that whole sequence was amazing), I think the film struck the right balance between humor and drama. Some of the humor was indeed over the top or didn't land right, but it overall worked very well for me.

I welcome more Shang-Chi.
Shang-Chi and Katy forever!

For myself I'm not terribly bothered if they don't do a Thor 5, or if they do that it's yet another redirection.

Aside from the music and the Gor stuff (the opening and his sequences in the Shadow Realm), I'm not interested in revisiting Love and Thunder except for a followup with Hercules. I didn't catch Ragnarok until it came to streaming and then I turned it off halfway through. Humor is one thing but I just didn't feel like the movie cared.

I think Hemsworth will want to do another Thor movie just so he can sort of go out on a more popular movie. Even he feels they went to much into comedy in the last movie. If it is the last movie I feel maybe they need to even bring Loki back for it. But I really think they need Hulk. People love Thor/Hulk stuff and that stuff played a big role in Ragnarok being well received IMO.

That might still work, but it is going to be a very different dynamic now that we have a smart Hulk.

Didn't he say he was going to be cutting back on how much work he's going to do after he found out he has an Alzheimer's gene while he was filming Limitless for Nat Geo?

Me too, I really enjoyed Love & Thunder and would like to see a follow up that picked up on Thor and Love and the Hercules tease in the post credits scene.

I think they will replace smart Hulk with old Hulk eventually. People I think are wanting to see a return to classic form for the character.

Mark's 56 and grey-haired. That not old enough for folks?

Thanks to Universal playing around, I'm afraid they've left it far too late. Post-Secret Wars - assuming they actually did get the rights back - they're gonna have to hard reboot Hulk from scratch (with a whole-new cast) to even begin to start doing him justice; might as well wait until then to get him in 'classic form' again.

This is encouraging:
“How can we not go backwards? How can we not disappoint expectations? How can we continue to beat expectations?” Downey recalled. Added the actor: “And he brought up Victor Von Doom. I looked into this character. Later on, he goes, ‘Let’s get Victor Von Doom right.”

It sounds like what I was hoping for, that it's not about some Tony Stark-related gimmick, but is about giving a gifted character actor a different, complex character to apply his talents to.

If he is not connected to Stark it's going to be weird. I mean people are going to expect him the whole time to morph into some version of a Tony Stark and if he doesn't I think people are going to walk away upset.
