Eternals doesn't really need a sequel anyway. I think it told the only story that really needed to be told with those characters. I wouldn't mind seeing Sersi return at some point, and I do hope they at least follow up on Black Knight, but otherwise I'm fine with it not getting a sequel.

She'll be in Young Avengers, apparently filming next year.
That is still happening? I can't recall them mentioning it during either SDCC or D23 but I could have very well missed it.
As far as I know, a Young Avengers has never been officially announced, only heavily rumored based on certain characters introduced.

As one of the few people who genuinely loved the film but is also able to admit it had certain flaws, I largely agree with this. I do want to see follow-ups on the dangling threads but those don't have to happen in standalone sequel.

Eternals squandered a lot of good things. Especially the Deviants. There are several interesting Deviant characters in the comics and instead they made them into mindless murder machines. Bit of a hit job on Ikaris, too.

How do they follow up with Sersei without following up on Eternals?

I do think we will get a Young Avengers movie but that seems pretty early to start filming. For starters we only got two Young Avengers. Maybe 4 but they haven't really even set up such a movie in away that will help it be successful. That is part of the reason I mentioned the idea of having Ms Marvel and Kate Bishop in the Avengers movie. It's one the best ways to start setting it up.

Ms Marvel
Hawkeye II
Ironheart
Cassie Lang
Skarr (Hulk's son)

Potentially: Tommy and Billy Maximoff, Eli Bradly and if you really want young, Love Thorsdottir and Prince T'Challa.

To me that is kind of a weak lineup. Their is big drop in quality once you get past Ms Marvel and Kate Bishop. Ironheart and Cassie have been shown and were kind of boring. Still got some unknown potential in Skarr, the twins, Eli Bradly and the other two. I am thinking they need a few more stars. I am thinking of Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen and Kitty Pryde and X-23.

I was sticking to characters that have been introd. Which I guess includes X-23, now.

For me I was looking more in terms of what I think the movies needs to be successful. The movie will only work if people love the characters IMO. I was also thinking in terms of whether or not you got enough of a pitch to even make it a movie. Part of thinks Young Avenegers would work better as a streaming show.

I was also thinking about how they are cutting down to doing 2 to 3 movies a year. So lets say that in the next 3 years that amounts to 7 movies. Well we know out of those 7 we have

2 Avengers
1 Fantastic 4
1 Spiderman 4
1 Thunderbolts.

That leaves you with just two slots. One of them also I feel needs to get the X-Men even more into the universe. Me personally I would give two of those slots to a Thor 4 and Dr Strange 3. That leaves 1 slot open. Maybe two if they make 8 instead of 7. Also one of them will I am sure be a sequel to the new Captain America movie if it's a hit but if it flops then that is it for Captain America movies, unless they bring back Steve Rogers. That means does Marvel really want to give one of those extra slots to a Young Avengers movie. I think they would love to but only if they got enough characters that will get people to want to watch it.

I will say that if the show well made I do think you will see the character again like Echo if people didn't care about the character all that much in their first appearance then what are the chances they will start caring now?

Considering Echo was one of the best made shows on Disney+ and still didn't attract an audience, and the character is not in the upcoming T-Bolts movie then it is highly doubtful we'll see her again unless she turns up in the Daredevil series.

Oh I don't we will ever see Echo again. While I didn't hate the show like many I do think they really dropped the ball in the final episode giving her powers. She worked best a low level fighter character. Not someone with glowy magic hands.

Did anyone love the Guardians before the first movie?

Marvel went for some arguably second tier characters out of the gate: Iron Man and Thor. They succeeded with a combination of writing and casting. Later they got the top tier with Hulk, Cap and Spider-man but continued to develop second tiers like Dr. Strange and Black Panther into franchises. They also found a place for lesser characters in streaming.
Now they’ve got the biggest gun: X-Men. Fingers crossed.

I don't think that movie was quit the gamble we think of it. James Gunn was someone you could really put trust in. Plus the MCU was going strong. It came out when anything with the MCU label on it would be a hit. I think Young Avengers would be seen as more acceptable risk in that day and age than it would be seen today.

Slither,Dawn of the Dead(writer)Super and his past with Troma. Some of us even know him from "The Specials."

I couldn't have picked Gunn out of a line up prior to GotG. Looking at his resume I see some fun thing he wrote, like Scooby Doo. The directing priors were pretty minor league. (Silther and Super)But Marvel saw something and took the chance. I'm not sure anything from the MCU would have been a hit but GotG hit the right notes.

The impression I got was that they still remember Spider-Man, they just don't remember that Peter Parker is the person in the suit. So they remember working with Spider-Man, but they've forgotten anytime they interacted with him just as Peter. And I'm not really sure how much of an impact that would really have with most of the Avengers since Tony was the one who had the most to do with him as Peter.
At May's grave, Peter and Happy had this conversation (paraphrased, ballpark history):

One of them says, "How did you know her?"
The other says, "Spider-Man."
The first one says, "Yeah, me too."
