How is that worse than Magneto, or less of a character than Dark Knight Joker (some random anarchist plot device)?

It's not worse. I'm not claiming that it is. Why do you think I am?

I finished what I hope will be the first of many full-length MCU tie-in novels Thanos: Titan Consumed.
There are at least two more so far that I know of The Heroes' Journey, which based off of the Goodreads reviews is a combination of recaps of movies from different characters' POVs, and a few new bits, and The Cosmic Quest Vol. One: Beginning, which is a team up of a post Guardians Collector and a post Ragnarok Grandmaster.

So essentially a prose version of what they do in the tie in comics. More recap than original material. Not really the same thing. Although, The Collector and Grandmaster story sounds interesting. The Collector obviously showed interest in collecting all the stones himself back in Thor the Dark World and the first Guardians, so it would be interesting to see that explored.

And a vol. 1 implies a vol. 2...

*does research*

Oh.

Oh, now THIS does sound interesting...

Part 2 is set AFTER the snap!

From the reviews on Goodreads, it sounds like at least some of that one is also just recapping the movies.

Thinking on it a bit, it actually makes sense that they would have Eric Selvig investigating the mysteries of the Stones. He's had direct experience with three of them. He studied the Space Stone for SHIELD, was under the influence of the Mind Stone and helped to defeat the Reality Stone. In fact, the back cover also indicates that they'll be focusing on two of those three stones, Space and Reality.

Also, Selvig is working with Darcy and not Jane? She must have gotten dusted.:weep:

If I'm being honest, I just might check this one out even if it is just mostly recap.:)

There's also the recent plotline where Cap's serum stops working or whatever, giving Evans a chance to play a supporting role as an aging Steve Rogers for a few movies until he returns.

They obviously don't get into specifics so it could be anything. More Captain America movies? World War II flashbacks? A supporting role in the Bucky and Falcon television series?

Marvel/Disney could at least give him one last chance at a third solo film in which he doesn't have to share the lead with someone else. A real Captain America movie and not some quasi Avengers or Iron Man movie.

I'd like that too, just Cap in his van traveling with his bike in the back, that's how he was in his own book for a while, sending in his drawings to Marvel Comics, because that was his only paying job.

What's wrong with taking full advantage of being in a Shared Universe?

Why does it have to be used in a Captain America movie? Marvel could have saved the Civil War story arc for an Avengers film. I wanted a third Captain America film in which he had his final confrontation with HYDRA . . . to round out his story arc. And I didn't like "Captain America: Civil War".

They had already tied up Cap and Co.'s dealing with Hydra in Age of Ultron, so that was never going to be a possibility for a third Cap movie.
