That name does definitely lead to lots of speculation. I think I read somewhere that through all sorts of time travel shenanigans the modern GotG were actually named after the 31st century group. Maybe they'll do a reverse of that, and have the modern Guardians somehow run into a 31st century group inspired by them.Working titles are often times not even remotely close to the actual title of a film. Usually they are intentionally vague and non-connected cause the studio is attempting to keep hush/hush on a project.
That being said, we know a GotG2 is coming and a working title of anything other than GotG2 is at least cause to pause. So, why Guardians 3000 and NOT GotG2 or some uber hush/hush working title?
With all the cosmic elements that will be in play by the time of the sequel and Infinity War on the horizon it's fun to speculate that the TIME GEM could be in play. Thus bringing in the GotG 31st century counterparts a.k.a. Original GotG team into play. Feige has already altered Yondu to be in the present, maybe he goes into the future IF the Vance Astro led team shows up? Seeing Starhawk, Charlie-27, Nikki & Martinex on the big screen as part of a cosmic struggle would be awesome!!
So does anyone think that Theta Protocol that Coulson is working with in AoS is connected toAvengers training centre shown at the end? They do need lots of bunk beds over there..
Well...
I rather suspect it was getting the hellicarrier up and running as a refugee evacuation platform. I mean that "some old friends helped me get her out of mothballs" line seemed fairly implicit to me.
Or it could be both. It's not like they're mutually exclusive possibilities.
That seems a bit ridiculous, even for these movies. Suitcase suits and missile suits and suits that drop from satellites is all well and good, but suits made of nanobots seems pretty far out there in comparison.

Eh, suitcase suits and missile suits are pretty much already ridiculous. Personally, I'd say a nanobot suit makes considerably more sense than that suit from IM 3 which could be completely disassembled and still have every individual piece capable of independant cross country flight - I mean every piece would have to have its own power source and individual computer and flight control systems...
Trailer for a Black Widow solo movie!

I guess the only problem I have conceptually with the nanobot tech is them being stored inside his body.
How does that work? Where does the mass of the metal go then?
i mean, when it assembles it is still a a solid metal casing with thickness and mass and weight, right?
That sifting through his body, even dissolved into tiny individual particles should outright kill him,
Well, maybe it get's put into a parallel dimension or something, who knows, right?![]()
Yeah, the whole storing it inside his body thing does seems a little out there, even for the movies. I could see them going with the nanotech's non-armor form being something he could carry around with him though. I could see a pretty cool visual where he's surrounded by bad guys, and pulls out a metal ball or cube, throws it up in the air where it disintegrates into a cloud, which then covers his body and solidifies into armor. That strikes me as exactly the kind of thing the movies might go for.I guess the only problem I have conceptually with the nanobot tech is them being stored inside his body.

Lastly, Feige clarified that he has no intention to ever take a "dark turn" in the MCU. He wanted to make this point clear as he stated that fans approach him consistently asking him when the Marvel movies will go "dark." He stated that even though trailers may feel ominous, the movies will not have that feel and will retain their trademark sense of humor. The report states that "the humor is in the DNA of the movies, there are no plans to change that."
