After previous reports that Vanessa was recast with Sandrine Holt in Born Again, a new onset photo has emerged that shows Ayelet Zurer is actually returning!

I imagine this was part of the big overhaul that led to bringing back Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll.

The reason why Zurer was recast in the first place was because she had taken other work and wasn't available for the show, but then all the delays happened which meant her schedule realigned and she was no longer unavailable so they could get her back.

I had wondered if that was the case but I never heard an official statement saying that for a fact. Either way, I'm thrilled she's back!

RDJ says he’s up to returning to the MCU

I’m fine as long as he’s paying a variant. No resurrections
Yup, same here. Variants are the new thing so it would make sense to see a different kind of Tony. Great way to bring back Downey without messing up the beautiful arc of Tony's character.

Nah, I like how all of his AIs are based on other people. I prefer the variant idea because it would potentially give Downey something new to do instead of just doing more of the same.

That's entirely fair. I was just thinking of how important a part the Tony Stark AI played in the Ironheart comics. And with an Ironheart show on the way...

I've always loved the idea of Downey sticking around long-term as the Tony Stark AI - you get to keep him around indefinitely without breaking the budgets of every movie he appears in and it's an absolutely fantastic concept that Tony ends up where Jarvis/Vision began.

But whether they go there or not, he will 100% be a variant in Secret Wars. Nothing less than that would match the level of hype that film is obviously trying to hit.

Maybe the much-rumoured Tom Cruise variant? (Though you’re probably right, RDJ’s return would probably outweigh even that)

If we were to get a variant of Tony played by RDJ, I think one based on the comic "Superior Iron Man" would be an interesting idea. A version of Stark who is a giant prick and embraces all of his vices, who pretends to be a hero but really isn't. Basically, he's what a tech billionaire would actually act like if they could become Iron Man. The comic story line with "Superior Iron Man" wasn't great, but using the idea of the character for a variant could work well.

I'd be fine with either ab AI or variant version of RDJ's Iron Man showing up.

I'm glad Ayelet Zurer's coming back, in all of these kind of situations I always prefer to see the original actor coming back whenever possible. Unless I really didn't like them for some reason, and that was not the case Zurer, she was fantastic.

Yeah, I saw someone suggest that in the comments of the io9 article and I could see that working at least. When I made that comment, I had forgotten (since I haven't actually read any Ironheart) that such an AI existed there.

Yup, same here (although I didn't miss Terence Howard...). I was especially bummed when Holt's casting was announced because Zurer was so damn good in the role. I recently rewatched the series after Echo and I lamented the whole time thinking she wasn't going to return.

I mean… Elon Musk exists in the MCU…

Based on my experience watching Ozark, a silver naked Julia Garner could sell more than a few tickets.

That being said, while I'm sure she can play other parts, I'm not sure I'm ready for a Surfer, male or female, who sounds like a foul-mouthed hillbilly drug dealer.

I mean she was born and raised in New York so she's affecting an accent to play Ruth.

I though she was superb in Ozark.

Johnathan Majors has been sentanced to a one year in-person domenstic violence intervention program, but he could still end up with jail time if he doesn't finish the program. It's not jail time, but at least it's better than nothing.

It isn't mentioned in that article but according to the BBC article part of the reason he didn't get jail time is because both sides of the case felt it didn't warrant it so I think he's been quite lucky to say the least.

Justice Michael Gaffey of the state Supreme Court in Manhattan sentenced Majors to conditional discharge after noting that both sides in the case agreed the charges did not warrant jail time.

Wouldn't be surprised if Feige and/or Iger's told him "Keep your head down and your mouth shut for a year, don't make any waves, and maybe we won't have to recast Kang after all."
