Dorky as it sounds but the Black Knight has always been one of my favourite characters.I really hope they do the character justice. And please let him have that cool helmet!

Kit Harrington going out of his way not to be typecast eh?;)

Whatever happened to @Kira's Mom ? I seem to recall she was a huge Dane Whitman fan.

Black Knight is an odd choice to be part an Eternals film. I don't know of any connection between the two properties other than Sersi and Dane both being Avengers.

One thing IGN pointed out is that he was only identified by his civilian identity in the announcement, with no mention of him being The Black Knight, so there is a chance we might not actually see him in his superhero persona.

Wikipedia says Sersi and Whitman used to date. And they were 'mentally bonded' (against Dane's will) by Ikaris as part of some attempt to save her from some evil mind stuff. They also got stuck in the past together once.

I'm still here, just not posting as much. Black Knight is one of my favorite characters in Marvel. Not the biggest fan of Kit Harrington, but we'll see how he does, and what they do with him. It will probably involve Sersi.

I hope they remember that Dane is a scientist, and that he's American.

My memory of that era of Avengers is hazy.

The thing that I take away from that is that this is the first confirmation from someone other than Sony executives that Tom is still contracted to portray Peter on film.

That was my first thought as well, since even keeping in mind his messy fling with Sersi, inserting Marvel's whole weird take on the Arthurian mythos into something that's already as complicated as the whole Eternals/Deviants/Celestials thing seems an odd fit.

But thinking about it some more, they could just make it so that the Arthurian mythos were one of the many legends inspired by the Eternals. There's even some precedence for that, since IIRC Kirby had the idea that Merlin was a charlatan and the real power behind him was Sersi.

Black Knight is one of the few Marvel characters I just can't stand.

Being as Moon Knight's one of the others, not quite my perfect announcements.

Sadly no Captain Britain announcement...

It occurs to me that the She-Hulk series would be the perfect place to pick up a few hanging plot threads from The Incredible Hulk, first and foremost Tim Blake Nelson's Samuel Sterns/The Leader.

That didn't even occur to me, but it would make sense.

Well, it does look like Peggy Carter will be Captain Britain in What If?. The picture of her shows her in a Union Jack costume, with a Union Jack shield.

Dunno what it is about the black knight that I like so much but he reminds me of Cap,an ostensibly ordinary guy with an outdated weapon taking on all sorts of weirdness.
I will agree with you on the Moon knight though,a Batman wannabe with any of the psychological tomfoolery that his writers can come up with.TBH,I think that any attempt to bring him to the screen would be a disaster.Like it or not tent pole audiences are about explosions and running about not sweaty contemplations on multiple personality disorders.

Oh, good point. I hadn't thought about that. It helps that Marvel/Feige isn't afraid about reaching way back for characters or plot points, as evidenced by Far From Home and the forthcoming Shang Chi.

At this point, I think the Sterns/The Leader thing is probably one of the biggest unresolved plot points in the MCU.
