The coolest thing they did with Illyana in recent history, is that after the Civil War Doctor Strange would not take IlIyana on as a student, so she went back in time 5 years to coax some learning out of a younger Strange a couple times a week.

I'm not saying that they did it (in the 80s, where she's trying to explain to him what AIDS is, "so it's no glove, no love") , but hypothetically a lot of ritualistic magic is tied to human sexuality.
