It's great to see that SMG has a clear vision for Burnham and is thinking about what makes the character work, even if the writers sometimes seem to not know quite what to do with her, or have conflicting visions of where to take her. I thought her performance in the finale was excellent.

I really love how she talks about Micheal working towards achieving balance. That this is the new goal moving forward. She emphasized the fact that in S1 she was leaning on her logic too heavily and in S2 she'd allowed her human side to take over and be expressed in a way that was unprecedented for her. And that the ideal is to find a balance within the character, who is no longer shackled by shame and over-compensation, to truly be herself.
