MARCH MADNESS Anyone?

Dang, too late to get in. Should have thought to look on Yahoo- I kept trying ESPN yesterday and couldn't find the group. Oh well.

My Richmond Spiders are going up against a tough St. Mary's team. I hope it's a good game!

I have St. Mary's in the Sweet 16. They made a good Gonzaga team look pretty silly. :)

Where is everyone? Last year there were a ton of people in the contest.

You're picking St. Mary's to beat Villanova? Yikes.

St. Mary's looked good today and Villanova looked bad. It could happen. :)

Eight for eight, so far!

Ohio over Georgetown is my first wrong pick. Oh well, nobody's perfect. :)

Washington had better get their act together though, I can't believe all those short guys on Marquette are doing better on the boards. Every rebound seems to bounce off two Huskies before being controlled by the other team.

Edit: That's more like it! Pressure defense, solid rebounds, and some good shots, and Washington has come from down 15 to within 1!

Somebody tell me I didn't just see Georgetown lose to the university of Ohio. :scream: Somebody tell me that all my 10 brackets we're allowed to enter in the ESPN tournament challenge didn't just get busted. :scream: Murray State I got. St. Mary's I got. Northern Iowa I got. The University of Ohio......no, I did not get that. :scream: :scream: :scream: :scream:

Normally I couldn't be bothered to give a damn if an elite east coast team lost, but they lose now when I had them in the elite eight on every single bracket and even had them upsetting Kansas on one bracket?????

Is Syracuse going to go belly up next?

Washington retakes the lead! To all you Pac-10 naysayers, this is what a good team is made of. They stumbled out the gate to start the second half and found themselves down 15, but they didn't give up. Go Huskies!

I almost picked Tennessee over Georgetown but reconsidered. I should have gone with my gut there. I would still have my Sixteen intact if I had.

I think everybody's Sweet Sixteen is officially busted with that. :shifty: :vulcan:

I split Marquette and Washington down the middle on my picks. I'm cool with this one whatever happens. Georgetown. So much for the mighty Big East. I even had ODU over Notre Dame on one bracket.

Uh, yes... Ohio University did have a losing record in conference play. Guess it's good for them that the MAC has a post-season tournament. Then again, I think most conferences do. They were even the 9th seed in the conference tournament. This game was never that close even when G'tn whittled the lead to 7. The Hoyas just plain didn't show up and the Bobcats did.

That's why I didn't give them a chance. I thought they'd shot their load--so to speak--in their post season tournament. There's precedent. The Big East has gotten teams in with less than. 500 record in conference play, no post season title required.

So are we done hearing about how awesome and dominant and talented the Big East is this year? For all it was maligned, the Pac-10 has just as many tournament wins so far this year. :)

It's only the first day of the first round. There's an AWFUL lot of ball left to play.

Heck of a finish by Wake Forest. I thought they were done when Texas went up six in overtime. Very exciting first day!

Texas went down the crapper just like they went down the crapper after they were ranked #1. I wouldn't have picked them to win a card game much less a tournament game. Much as I love the Big 12, Texas in the last month has completely fallen apart. Not at all surprised that they found a way to lose the game tonight.
